Ruling Faint attack/direct hit while blinded with a Shiftry PRR with memory berry

This happened while a friend and I were playing. I had a Shiftry from Rising Rivals out with a memory berry poke tool attached and a Nuzleaf Rising Rivals under it. I used blind which requires the opponent to flip a coin to attack their next turn. With Shiftry's poke body, all coins flipped during your opponent's turn are tails. Would direct hit(Salamence - this attack's damage isn't affected by weakness, resistance, etc) ignore the blind? I would assume not since the effects on salamence but i don't really know. Any help please?
 
No. As you stated, the effect is on Salamence, not on Shiftry. Therefore, their Salamence would have to flip still to attack.
 
If Salamence used Direct hit after Shiftry used Blind last turn, then yes salamence would still have to flip because the effect is on Salamence, not Shiftry.
