Hi people! How are you doing?? I came here for ask you some questions about evolution:
1- Let´s suppose that I flipped the coin and started the game. I have Caterpie at Active pokémon and Phione benched. May I use the Caterpie´s poké-power for try evolving to Metapod?? And if the poké-power suceed, may I use the Metapod´s poké-power to try to evolve into Butterfree?? Remembering that´s it happen at the T-1 of the game.
2- Continuing the example above: the Caterpie´s poké-power didn´t suceed, but I´ve got a Metapod into my hand. So, I use the Switch that I´ve got from the initial hand, and switch Phione and Caterpie. I evolve Caterpie into Metapod at bench, and put an energy to Phione. Now the question: may I use the Phione´s Evolution Wish to evolve Metapod, since it evolved this turn??
3- For finish, continuing the example, I´ve got a Roseanne´s Research, and I picked up a Mantyke and a Mantine. I play Mantyke onto my bench. Now the question: may I use Mantyke´s Baby evolution poké-power to evolve it into Mantine, since I played it this turn??

This questions are crucial for me, because I have some of this pokémon, but I have doubts on using its effects.
Thanks!!

As a general rule, when a card and the normal game rules conflict, the card wins. So through the use of Poke-Powers, attacks, and cards such as Trainers, you can "violate" the normal rules of the game. They allow you to do things you couldn't legally do yourself.

So for question 1, you can legally use Poke-Powers on turn 1. The card tells you to evolve -- the card wins. Once you have Metapod out, you can then use it's Poke-Power to get Butterfree.

The answer to question 2 is...sort of. Since this is turn 1, you can't play an Evolution card from your hand, so you can't evolve Caterpie to Metapod as you described. You can, however, use Evolution Wish to search your deck for another Metapod and evolve it. Also, if you had another method of getting Metapod into play -- for example, if you go second, you can play a Rare Candy on your first turn (again, the card wins) -- you could then use Evolution Wish to search for Butterfree and evolve.

For question 3, that's a yes also. As with question 1, you can use a Poke-Power to evolve something you normally couldn't.
