Earth’s Pulse and Ocean’s Core ‘Primal Clash’ Theme Deck Lists [1/20]

Are these decks the first XY/BW decks that use a significant number of Trainer cards (excluding potion, energy switch, switch and energy search) outside it's set?
Pokemon Center Lady, Fan Club, Letter, Evosoda and Tierno all in the [F] deck.

I'm shocked that these decks include Ancient Trait cards!

These are at least decent for beginning players. The Trainer selection is strong (glad to see Teammates and new Stadiums) and varied.
The Pokemon themselves are pretty mediocre, though. Whiscash, Manectric, Medicham, and Milotic are nice additions, but I don't think they justify how many unfinished evolution lines are.
Why is there not a single Fully-evolved Fire Type in Ocean Core? They could have gone with Magcargo, since it's Uncommon, but whatever.

Overall, I'd say the better of these decks would be Earth Pulse. Earth Pulse at least has a variety of 'ok' attackers that can help. When playing in a Theme Deck battle, Groudon does 100, Rhyperior can spread for 20-40 or hit for 80-120, Manectric does 70 and Paralyzes, Medicham hits 60 for 2, and Bibarel relies on luck but can at least try.
Ocean Core just doesn't have enough Evolved Pokemon to be strong, meaning that once your Kyogre line and Whiscash get KO'd, you're pretty much out of attackers. In Theme Deck matches, Kyogre does only about 80, Whiscash can do 120, and that's about it. Walrein is too limited to be strong because base damage is 70, Milotic isn't strong enough at 60 for 3, and everything else hits at just around 30-40.

They probably should have had 2 Observations rather than 1, but I can't really complain too much about the contents.

It does bother me slightly, though, that Zigzagoon is listed before Linoone. Every other evolution is listed before its basic. >.>

Oh, and no, bbninjas, it's pretty common. Fan Club, Tierno and Letter have been in almost every XY Theme Deck.

Are we sure it's the Ancient Trait cards that are in the theme decks? Because all these cards also have a non-ancient trait card and maybe it's those in the theme deck?

While not really a fact, I have noticed many awesome similarities between Gaia Volcano and Tidal Storm...

The first would be Kingdra and Flygon. They each are set specific, and the only Dragon Types of their respective sets. They both are holos, and evolve from Pokemon that are not the same Type as their final stage of evolution. The similarities don't end there, though.
The Energy types they use are quite curious. Each of these sets features 1 Pokemon that uses Energy not the same of their Type. GV features Breloom, and TS features Lanturn. A Grass Type that uses Fighting Energy, and a Lightning Type that uses Water Energy. These same Energy mixes are used for Flygon and Kingdra, respectively. Awesome, right?

Another cool detail features Excadrill and Azumarill. Their Types match the Mega from the corresponding set, and both of them feature an Ancient Trait card that is Holofoil. This is made even cooler when you realize that this is the first pair of sets to feature Excadrill and Azumarill with their alternate Types, and the 2 Traits they have are the ones that Groudon and Kyogre do NOT use. Isn't that crazy?!?

Lastly, I would like to note Magcargo and Whiscash. They each feature a non-Holo Ancient Trait card that has the same Trait as their respective Primal. Also, they both have a first attack that has no additional effect, AND they both have 110HP. The similarities also include that their non-Trait cards both feature a 1 Energy attack that does 20 with an additional effect, and a second attack that uses 3 Energy, with the possibility of hitting for 90 on each of them.

Aren't these touches so cool?!?
