Ruling Dusknoir SF and Charizard AR ( or Blaziken PL)

If Charizard uses Burning Tail on Dusknoir when it just used Night Spin (and Charizard has 3 energy attatched) does Charizard do the damage first,or does it discard the energy first, thus making it not do any damage because of Night Spin?
