Based on MTG flip cards, Transforming Pokemon Cards are a way to creatively show Pokemon with multiple forms!

How they work:
Transforming Pokemon cards are special double-sided cards (meaning they don't have a back and have a complete card on each side instead) that can flip between their two forms. A transforming card is always played with the side with the 5 bars (the one on the left) originally facing up, which is called its primary side. Then the card can be transformed into what's called its secondary side when the correct conditions are met. These conditions could be using an attack (such as in this card), when an ability tells you, etc. Pokemon aren't the only cards that can transform, any card type has the potential to be a transforming card (including supporters and items for you creative ones out there).
Rulings:
- When a Pokemon transforms, any cards attached to it, damage counters, special conditions, turns in play, and any other effects remain on it.
- When any card transforms, it still stays in play and does not reenter the battlefield in any way.
- If a transforming card has two different names (one for each side), it's name in the deck is the name of its primary side. However, its name on the field is whatever side it is currently flipped to (e.g. a stadium called sunlit stadium can transform into a stadium card called moonlit stadium. At any time it is in the deck, it is called 'Sunlit Stadium'. But if it is transformed into moonlit stadium while it is on the field, its name is 'Moonlit Stadium' as long as that side remains face up.
- If a transforming card leaves the field on its secondary side, it is flipped back over to its primary side.
- For unsleeved decks, a checklist card can be obtained. It has the back of a normal Pokemon card and can be marked off as a transforming card. A player will put that in their deck and then, when a checklist card is drawn and played, the player plays the actual copy of the card marked off instead.
