Pokémon (14):
  • 3 Garchomp & Giratina GX (beatdown)
  • 1 Mewtwo & Mew GX (beatdown)
  • 4 Rotom SM11a (acceleration)
  • 4 Weezing SM11b (enable)
  • 2 Koffing SM11b (enable)
Trainer (32):
  • 2 N's Resolve (accelerate)
  • 3 Cynthia (draw)
  • 3 Roxie (draw)
  • 4 Lillie (draw)
  • 4 Mysterious Treasure (search)
  • 3 Dragon Talon (beatdown)
  • 2 Great Catcher (control)
  • 3 Spell Tag (beatdown)
  • 4 Cherish Ball (search)
  • 4 Viridian Forest (search)
Energy (14):
  • 6 Fighting Energy
  • 8 Psychic Energy

STRATEGY:

Start with Rotom and bench Garchomp and Giratina GX. Use Viridian Forest to dicard Basic Energy and accelerate it to the benched Garchomp and Giratina GX with Rotom. Distribute damage on the board with the Pokémon tool cards and Roxie combined with Weezing and Koffing.

Is there a particular reason for 4 Weezing and not 4 Koffing? Or are they pretty much interchangeable?

Hi folks,

The reason to run a 2-4 Weezing line is to reduce the likelihood to start with Koffing. The entire Weezing line is here to be discarded with Roxie to fuel Garchomp and Giratina GX and draw some cards at the same time.

Hi, nice deck!
But consider the common scenario. You want to start with it, and load a Giratina. When both are knocked out, your opponent is at -2. You want another Rotom then, and another Giratina. When the other Rotom is knocker out, your opponent is at -1, and then you wipe out what remains with Giratina.
There are three things which can ruin this: (i) you can't get a Rotom after the first Giratina, (ii) you can't get enough energies for the first Rotom at the first turn, (iii) prize modifiers. In case (i), gg. But it's quite improbable. Consider anyway it can happen. Maybe consider adding a Jirachi engine. In case (ii), you'll need to bench another Rotom, but then, when the first Giratina is knocker out, your opponent will be at -1, and you'll not be able to use another Rotom to fuel the second Giratina anymore. This is the most critical point. In case (iii), I'm thinking about Buzzwole & Pheromosa Beast Game and Mega Sabley and Tyranitar. With a Beast Energy, Beast Game will kill your second Rotom and gg. And if Mega Sabley and Tyranitar koes Giratina, you'll not be able to use another Rotom to fuel the second Giratina. Again, this is a critical point, but how much critical this is will depend on how many darkbox will be seen in the next few weeks :)
