Death Note going downhill.

Do you agree with me, for the most part at least?

I like Death Note. I guess. But I used to LOVE that anime. It's been my favorite. But I think it's definitely getting worse now that I just finished ep. 20.
Here's my personal mini-timeline:
Ep. 1: OH. MY. GOD. I was blown away completely. It was awesome.
Ep. 2-7: Hey, it's still great!
Ep. 8-about 15: Sure it's still good, but...it's going downhill.
Ep. 16 or so-19: Eh...
Ep. 20: I could cry. They changed the opening from something mind-blowingly beautiful to (imo)a quite trashy heavy metal song that does not at all go with the mood of this show, and changed the end credits visually from something really awesome to something generic. Light and L are still cool, but...IDK, they just...seem different. Not passionate and excitable like they did. They seem sad. Plus, my 3rd favorite character from any anime, Ryuk, just doesn't seem to be a part of Death Note anymore! He was so interesting, cool, almost mysterious, yet lovable and funny! He just faded into nonexistence it seems... And it seriously makes me sad to never see him anymore. Where is he?!
OK, so, yeah, discuss. I guess, if you want to... *sigh*

I think I have some of the anime on DVD somewhere in my closet. And yes, I understand you.

Disagree totally. Best anime series ever, I watched every episode in 4 days
So...other than sleeping that's all you did? Wow.
But don't you miss Ryuk? What happened to him?!!

'Going'? You act like it didn't end several years ago.

But yeah, Ryuk is seen less as the series goes on, but he's very important for the ending. Think about one of the first things Ryuk said to Light.

I'm actually one of the few people who liked the second half of DN better than the first, but that's mostly because I didn't like L. Granted, I hate Near even more, but Mello's more than eough to make up for that.

Although I never watched the anime, I read the manga. So no opinion on the OPs there.

SPOILER ALERT:
Snape kills Dumbledore

Anyways... Death Note should ahve ended when L died. Everything after that was just stupid... STOP WATCHING WHILE YOU ARE STILL SANE

Hmm, well, that's disappointing...

I said "Going" b/c I just finished ep. 20.
Aw, man! You should watch the anime, at least the first 15 episodes!

He's still there, just watch the rest >: )
Well, OK. I guess... $_$

@Pandamore, me too in 4 days ^^

Well, like Penny Power said, the first episode was amazing, it really gave me the feeling it would be a amazing anime series (although I still think it is, just not what I expected).

At the beginning it was really good, especially before L showed his face. He did this in episode 10 I think... after that it just went different. L's dead was.. unexpected (the whole anime was unexpected actually ^^). It really gets a bit boring when Light gets locked up and the 10/15 episodes after it. Also when Ryuk dissappears for a great number of episodes.

Although I still recommend you to watch it all, the last few episodes are well... I liked them. They weren't that bad. Although I sometimes think they could've made it better by having a different story-line... I don't know. Anyway, just watch it! =P

Btw, I found an online Notebook 0.o; Don't these guys have nothing else to do these days xD

OK, I'll try watching the rest, thanks. I've been realizing though, I'm just not enjoying it anymore. And that's sad, I really loved it. The last episode I saw was No. 20 and they already seem to be dragging it out. 3 or 4 episodes after Light forgot he was Kira I started wondering why I was still watching it.
Now, every time I want to give it another chance, I think about the opening and ending; IT WAS FANTASTIC THE WAY IT WAS! It's a big deal to me because every time I saw heard that awesome song and Light facing down with L in the opening I got excited to see the episode! It put me in the mood. Now, the opening just makes me sad. Also, why is it in English?!
Eh...I just wanted to reply to you but it became another rant... Anyway, I'll give it a go!
