So far I have had close encounters with death three times now. Rounds 1 and 2 are not posted here, in fact, very few people even know them because it's information I'd rather not let everyone know. They aren't labeled as de vs death, but it is obvious they could've been.

This story begins last night around 8:20 PM. Due to the weather outside being snowing I brush the snow off my car and head off to work. A couple inches of snow had already fallen earlier in the day and plows have not come through yet. I entered the freeway like usual without any problems. Once I go to change lanes since the lane I was in is an exit only, suddenly I lost control of my car. There must have been ice where I was changing lanes. My car immediately starts heading towards the center. Through some miracle, I just missed the concrete divider by inches. My car was facing the wrong direction. There was a person coming in that lane, however, they had seen me lose control so they had backed off. Haad they not have done that, they probably would've ran right into me. I manage to get my car to turn around without having to get out of my vehicle and then continued on to work. It may sound hard to believe, but I was not screaming or anything once I lost control.

/me has narrowly escaped death three times now.

Now the moral of the story. Always make sure to drive slow in the winter.

I have gone through a situation much like that before. Last winter's second major snowstorm in the northeast (yeah, we had three), my family was going to a wedding while it was snowing (I also have a side story to this, but it's off-topic). We were about 4-5 miles away from my house, on the highway, where he actually slid and was sliding right into a car. Much like you, the car was headed towards my direction, but the card noticed it and avoided it. The distance wasn't in inches, but more so feet.

/me has escaped death for the (x)th time in a car.

I remember when one time this person was litterally trying to bash us foward. Pretty darn close. Pretty lucky aren't you ;)?

Sorry to hear about that, however, good job escaping death's grip three times. I have had one near-death experience. I was walking my dog and there was some sort of blockage on the side walk, so I moved to the street by moving between a big pickup truck and another large car when they were parked. However, my eyesight was limited because the truck was so big. When I steeped out to the street, there was a car coming at me fast from a short distance away. It hit the break and came to a stop a couple inches away from me. That is my story. Anyways, good job escaping from death. When I start driving I will drive slowly in the winter.

Thank Arceus :p

I'm glad to hear that you're ok :) Now I'm not too sure if I want to get my full licence >.<

Last year, there was a huggge wind storm in Columbus, I think it was the aftermath of Hurricane Ike. I was walking around the forest in the back of our Condo complex like an idiot, and all of a sudden I hear people screaming. I look over, and see my neighbors screaming and pointing behind me. I look back, and see this giant, 25ish foot tree falling at me. I have no clue why I didn't move, but the tree fell right next to me, only about 3 feet away.

Other than that, I've never been in anything too life threatening. For that, I am very thankful. One of my friends got hit by a train a few days ago :(

My parents once took away my Nintendo 64.

Talk about life threatening there! I was sure to have died if they did.

This didn't happen to me, but it happened to my mom and sister.

My mom and sister were driving down a road in the winter. There was a red light, then they stopped. There was this one car that was going a little too fast on the other lane then it was getting out of control.(due to the ice on the road) Then the car flipped and flipped and almost flipped straight into my mom's car, which would have killed them both. Luckily the car took a little turn and crashed into a nearby tree. The light turned green, and my mom and sister drove off. They would have helped the crashed car but they were too scared too due to that little near-death incident.

Once (I was like 4) my mom was going to the market, but my brother (2 at the time) was mad because he didn't want to go. A minute later we all saw a tornado rush through the area we would of been in if my brother wouldn't have gotten mad. So my brother basiclly saved my life.
