Dangerous bricking potential in new PS3 update

The new 4.45 firmware is bricking PS3s everywhere! (minor language warning)

Nothing will be able to be recovered, and Dualshock controllers won't connect if you update your PS3!

RE: DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PS3! IT WILL BE BRICKED!

I just updated mine a while ago, and everything seems to be working fine. Controllers connect and everything. But I suppose if you haven't updated yet, I wouldn't risk it.

After a little research, it seems to be mostly effecting those who upgraded their HDD, but still, don't do it until Sony can confirm it's fixed.
