Create-A-Card February 2014 - The Fairytale

I'm out, grats c-m

So did I miss the deadline or nah? I actually have my entry this time and I am pretty confident in this one.

That doesn't make any sense. If it's eleven I didn't miss is... right?
Whatever whether or not this is accepted here is my entry:

You guy sare fine, however, you only have some 4 hours to get entries in, come on! Let's make this a big one!

And entries are closed! Results might take a while, the text section needs to be sorted out first.

We had to get a few things organized, but results should be up soon!

I will be the image based judge while Blui will do text based. I judged our two entries, and they both were excellent. I'm just waiting for Blui to judge his share so the results will be posted.

I'll give out the results for image because I don't think there has been any judging for text yet.

Ah…the horrible fairy type. My least favorite type. But hey, we got some creative entries at least! This round was a staredown between Momaster12 and Heavenly Spoon. Who won? Let’s find out

Heavenly Spoon: Clefairy
A very neat card. You probably could have tried something new with the moon but it is still very nice. Glad to see that you made your own art, I’m not a good computer artist so I could never do something like that. :D
Errors:
Your ability says ‘you discard pile’ instead of ‘your discard pile’’. Didn’t someone have this issue with that last round? :>
Weight and Height should be in feet and lbs
Creativity/Originality: 19/20
Wording: 13/15
Fonts and Placement: 10/10
Believability/Playability: 5/5
Score: 47/50
Momaster12: Klefki
So you chose to use the key Pokemon, Klefki? Your entry is very creative. Let’s see how you did!
Errors:
Wording for ability should be: If you do, this Pokemon is Knocked Out
Font for the weakness/resistance is bolded when it shouldn’t be. Not too big of a deal here so I won’t count it against you because I barely noticed it.
In your description you wrote ‘giv’ instead of ‘give’.
Creativity/Originality: 20/20
Wording: 13/15
Fonts and Placement: 10/10
Believability/Playability: 5/5
Score: 48/50

Congratulations to Momaster12 for winning the Image Based Round![/hr]

Wait, what?! You're complaining about height and weight?! Seriously?! o_O But to be honest, that shouldn't be a problem, I have made all my cards to this day with those in Meters and Kilograms and actually had perfect score once. :p Just my opinion.

I feel like I got drafted into the army or something. :p
Blui hasn't responded to this, and it's been quite a while. So, I will be filling in for now.
I'm not a fan of Blui's judging sheet, so I'll be using:
Creativity: 1-10
Wording: 1-10
Balance: 1-5
Completeness: 0-1

Stage 2 - Florges - HP140 - Fairy
Evolves from Floette
florges.gif

NO.671 Garden Pokémon HT: 3'07" WT: 22.0 lbs.

[Ability] Symbiosis
If this Pokémon has a Pokémon Tool attached to it, whenever another of your Pokémon Tools in play is discarded from a Pokémon (unless that Pokémon is Knocked Out), you may move the Pokémon Tool card from this Pokémon and attach it to that Pokémon.

[Y][C] Wish
Heal 50 damage from this Pokémon.

[Y][Y][C] Moonblast 100

Weakness: Metal (×2) Resistance: Dark (-20) Retreat: ★★
In times long past, governors of castles would invite Florges to
create flower gardens to embellish the castle domains.
Creativity: 7/10
I can't say that I've seen anything like this before, as far as ability goes. The only one that comes close is Plasma Masquerian. But it does follow a recurring theme of a Stage 2 with a unique ability, yet mediocre attacks.
Wording: 5/10
I believe for the ability it should be:
"Whenever [or, 'Once during your turn when'] one of your Pokémon Tool cards is discarded from a Pokémon (unless that Pokémon is knocked out), you may move a Pokémon Tool card from this Pokémon and attach it to that Pokémon".
There were a couple unnecessary words in your version. :p
Balance: 3/5
About as far from OP as you can get, I'm afraid. I believe this falls under the category of being 'under-powered.'

Gardevoir can sense when its Trainer is in danger, and will use its psychic power
to distort dimensions and create a small black hole to protect its Trainer. It will even give up its life to protect its Trainer.
Creativity: 8/10
I love the thought you put into this. I just wish Pixilate could apply to Gardevoir as well.
Wording: 4/10
Uh oh.
A stage 1 Gardevoir? o_O
On the ability:
"Whenever one of your
20px-Colorless-attack.png
Pokémon attacks, apply Weakness and Resistance as if that Pokémon was

instead. Each of your
20px-Colorless-attack.png
Pokemon's attacks do 20 more damage to your opponent's Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance). You can't apply more than 1 Pixilate Ability at a time."
Also, most effects like Pixilate (the additional part) would come after W/R.
On the attack:
During your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokemon's attacks do 20 less damage to each of your Pokémon (after applying Weakness and Resistance).
Balance: 2/5
That's broken a bit, don't you agree? I mean, we're looking at any [C] pokémon hitting for weakness +40. I can just hear the cries of innocent children when this hits the table backed by Tornadus EX/Bouffalant (the former would be hitting 160 for a DCE and a Stadium, the latter would hit 160 against anything for three energy, but will OHKO any EX).

Perhaps because they feel more at ease in a group, they stick to others they find. They end up looking like a cloud.

Resistance: Darkness (− 20)

Their ears are sensitive enough to hear a pin drop from over a mile away, so they’re usually found in quiet places.

About the card:
Due to its ability, Clefable can support the defense against the crazy Hypnotoxes and other sleep-inducer mons even without Virizion EX. I personally think that this card is a bit better Meloetta (Plasma Storm) with useful Ability and maybe a bit worse first attack. It is nothing special with its attacks. Neither overpowered, nor too weak and if I remember correctly, none of the cards, which exists atm, make it broken.

[Y] Judge Jigglypuff 200 HP--Basic
jigglypuff.jpg

[Ability] The One And Only
Whenever you are selected to judge a CaC contest because the original judge hasn't responded in a while, you may flip a coin for each contestant in the tournament. For each heads, give a reasonable score and correct reasons. For each tails, randomly select scores and reasons out of a hat.

[Y] Haters Gonna Hate 120
If somebody complains about the score or reasons you gave them, you may choose to ignore or answer them. If you choose to ignore them, draw a prize card. If you choose to answer them, make like Astra and blame #FirstWorldProblems. Then, draw a prize card anyway.

Weakness: What Weakness?
Resistance: Everything
Retreat: Never Retreat, Only Advance In A Different Direction
As the new judge of this competition, you've already won! Good luck judging the other contestants!

:p I'll be working on this over the weekend. Expect them by Monday at the latest (unless Blui shows up, then he'll probs take over again... idk).
