Sorry. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't find the thread.... So um.... are contests like out of the show now? And what are Pokemon Musicals? o_0 Sorry. I'm a bit lost. I haven't really been following the anime for a while....

Yeah. I'm with you on the musical thing. The musical idea seems.... odd.... for Pokemon. Although I thought contests were really cool! I thought they were a cool way to show off the beauty of a Pokemon while battling. Plus appeals rounds were just great to show off in general. =P I'm actually gonna be sad with contests leaving. Oh well! At least there's still Brock! Wait? What? He's not there either!? *sigh* Pokemon's not gonna be the same without Brock. =(

Maybe they won't even do musicals at all. They did say the anime would be "faster paced". They might not even have time for it and only show it once. =D
I liked contests sometimes, but most of the time, they just made me think "What the heck?!" So, yeah. I'm looking forward to them not taking up a ton of episodes anymore. xD

Contests might be going but i loved them because it developed dawn as a character and making moves look cool was just awesome.

yeah, I believe we established contests are dead, so my theory on why the whole musical gig is to get more girls playing and increase there fanbase... that's also why I think they created Eevee, Chillarmy, Shikijika and all other cute, but realitivly weak, basic pokemon (...eevee is a minor reason, but still a reason, why I loved pokemon as a kid...)

I never liked contests. I didn't think they were necessary and Super Contests were just unneeded. Why on earth are you (the player) the only one to dress up in the Super Contests and everyone else is not? I mean, why stick out like a sore pink thumb?

To Sweet Dawn Berlitz: Oh yeah. Contests on the videogames sucked. But in the show I thought they were pretty cool. ^_^

The contests on the show are predictable. Because you know in the end May/Dawn would not win the Grand Festival. That's not how the anime works.

@ Kevin: unless only certain pokemon could preform like Jigglypuff and Kickitune that are well known for singing, but because of the info
I've seen on Serebii I highly doubt this. But this whole different sets of music other than the classic pokemon themes seems interesting, and I only say that bacause I'm a music geek as well.
