I have not lost a match with my Tatsugiri deck at locals yet and this feels like a fun acceleration/mulligan saver with one or 2 added in - SHOCKED more people don’t want to play it or even know how to play against it! Tatsu has been so so fun to even if no one takes it serous
I've been trying it a bit but can't really pin down a good decklist, which has put me off from it. Could you share yours (via dm probably)?
I love these kinds of evolved Pokémon that you can start with if they're in your opening hand. Like others have mentioned it's pretty similar to Manectric from Celestial Storm, but almost always better as it accelerates more energy, from the deck instead of your hand, and has better stats. The ability doesn't let you start with it on the bench like Manectric's ability did but that's almost never going to be relevant unless you start with multiple Cinderace in your opening hand.
Aside from Tatsugiri however I don't see a deck that would want this. I'm still pretty hyped to try brewing something fun with it however.
But this card has got me wondering how many of these effects actually exist in the Pokémon TCG. I know of Manectric CES, Luxray CRZ and Talonflame STS. Sadly I think the only card out of those 3 that actually saw competitive success was Talonflame (in Greninja I believe).
