Right this is my first report and certain things I want to point out.

I have played pokemon for less than a month and i'm in the Masters Division, but yugioh for 5+ years so i might find tactics strange and spelling will be mistake ridden.

Any suggestions to the deck are welcomed but this deck is intended for HG/SS onwards so please do not sugggest stuff that will be rotated out.

I am not going to the UK nationals due to lack of experience and cards.

Decklist:

2-2-2 Magnazone Prime
3 Reshiram ( only own 3)
2-2 Ninetails (Roast)
2-2-2 Emboar ( Fandango)
2 Cleffa

Trainers:

4 pluspower
4 pokemon ciomunication
2 oaks new theory
2 Professor juniper
2 interviewrers questions
2 Copycat
2 elms training method
2 switch
2 energy retrieval
1 energy returner

Energy:

3 electric
13 fire

Right, woke up at 4:45 am as wife was heading to Expo so I quickly made some adjustments to the deck and got ready, leaving at 9am to go to Chimera Games. Got awesome Subway in Nottingham and get to Beeston at 10:20. Waited around for other players to show up and Ben shows up around an hour later, we discuss deck ideas for a bit until Derek showed up with a Metang plushie ( later on a Mamoswine plushie shows up and hijinks ensue between them, Derek took a photo)

The Nationals are tomorrow and this accounts for the low player turnout. £5 entry for 1 guaranteed booster winner gets free tourney entrys for 1 month and i think 1 more booster as well as entry ( which is free to those invited) to the Quarterly Championships. There is a door prize of an entry place as well.

3 masters:

Me
Ben
Derek

5 Juniors who i cant remember. Round 1 is drawn

Me v Derek ( Samugator )

My worst matchup as he pulls out Spiritomb as active and i hold 3 trainers each time, great start as I theory turn 1. He sets up feraligator early and belts Oshawotts just for hand space for Uxie. I end up playing Magnazone and koing 2 belted ( 1 feraligator and 1 samurott) pokemon but end up annoyed at no emboar so i couldnt finish it off and lose. Game 2 goes much better for him and I scoop about 10 minutes in due to him having a full hp belted samurott and only a magneton on my side.

0-1

Round 2: Me v a junior ( using his sneak peak deck + expert belts)

game 1: I drop magnazone and reshiram early and he has no counters to overcome the high damage attacks. Ironic note, I ko a belted oshawott with 2 tepigs on bench, i get 2 pignites from my prizes.

Game 2: Magnemite manipulation saves me until I search magneton and drop a tri attack on his only oshawott (Belted) when he has no bench.

1-1

My game finished early so I watched Derek v Ben duke it out with Ben winning, we quickly duiscuss my 1st round match as I said I would rather face him than Derek and that I thought belting early cost him prizes. I felt I did badly but Ben told me not to worry, I said I would get him next round and he disagrees.

Round 3: Me v Ben ( 2-0 with Jumpluff)

Called it :p . He sets up early as I wonder what my deck is doing, my hand is bleh and i'm forced to discard a magnezone early through juniper as we trade hits and don't even get a pignite out as he smashes me.

Game 2: I HATE CLEFFA.....mid game I have 2 reshirams set up to blue flare ( STILL no emboar as i had to ditch 1 and the other was prized) and I flip 8 tails in a row and i was fuming. I'm desperatly drawing for a switch ( usung ninetails I draw through half my deck at least) and as soon as i flip for the 9th time I draw it. Sods Law strikes again. He thought I would concede earlier than I did but a high smacking Jumpluff + 2 cherrims ends it.

1-2

I finish 6th and get the Door Prize of entry into the quarterly tournament, result as i get a call of legends pack and get nothing. I expected to do this well but not this poorly with draw + search power.

Pros:

Ben + Advice
Metang and Mamoswine
Winning entry to the Quarterly Tournament
Subway
Testing a deck

Cons:

No Emboar all tournament
CLEFFA....
Making a few minor mistakes ( not communicating when I should have)

hope you all enjoyed reading this.
