Ruling Can You Level Up a SP pokemon and Vice Versa?

I was just wondering, can you level up an SP pokemon into the normal type of that pokemon Lv.X?

i.e. I have Machamp GL as my active pokemon, can I level it up into the Mahacmp Lv.X in my hand?

No because every SP Pokemon has a special character next to their name. Making them different from what a regular level x would level up from.
Lv.X's are specific from what they level up from.
Just read the gold box at the bottom of any Lv.X

Adding on to that, "Machamp GL" is technically a different name than "Machamp". This goes for any other Pokemon with something in front of their name, like "G" or "4".
