OK, a while back, Ryan"TheSeaKing" put up a thread regarding people and their inseparable pokemon from the video game series. I'm going to revive that with this new thread, but for a different reason. I decided I would take some of those stories and weave them into a fan fic I've been contemplating for a short while. As a result, I will use this thread as my "inspiration" thread for ideas for my story.

So, share with me your stories of pokemon you wouldn't play the games without, and they may be intertwined into my story! But only if they are "good" - that is, not just "I met this pokemon and I liked it," - that is NOT a workable story. Also, it's important to note that this is NOT a "what's your favourite pokemon" thread - this is a thread to discuss the pokemon you feel strongly about after going through *insert story here* for them and *insert second story here* they have done for you.

Got all this? It's not that hard really. I'll give you a few examples I gave in the last thread, to get you started:


I've always been a fan of Eevee and its evolutions, in particular Jolteon (I'm an Electric fan first and foremost). Back when GSC was the latest out, I got the Eevee that Bill gives you, as you do. It happened to be female too, so I got raising it. It took till around lv 45, but it FINALLY evolved into Espeon... that Espeon was a core player in ALL of my decent teams from then on. It even had Bite - talk about awesome for GSC!

Next would be a more recent one... as you can tell from my sig, I have a major soft spot for Absol (Dark types are my second love, and I often use more of those than Electrics now). Now, I wasn't buying into RS for a long time... I actually wasn't going to at all, but my friend (who is also the owner of a TCG market stall and a major pokemaniac) let me play his Ruby game for a while. He was outside Fortree at the time, so I milled around the grass for a bit to see what I could find. About 10 mins before I had to go home, I found Absol... the buggar was only just caught in time, but it looked SO awesome that I knew my heart was still in the game. I got my mum to lend me her Ruby (as she had Sapphire as well, so I got to borrow Ruby) and I played through it. I caught myself an Absol and trained it up... such wicked attack power it has too! I've bred through it a little and I know have another one being trained up which is PHENOMINALLY evil for power...

Anyways, the next poke I have a soft spot for... quite possibly my fave (and most raised) pokemon is Gardevoir. This was another one that I saw in the game, and I knew that I HAD to have one. So, I took the time to find out where they came from and got Ralts. It took a while to raise, but I still have the lv 100 Gardevoir she became... it has a really awesomely strong HP Water, which really helped me at the time.

The other RS poke I fell in love with was Miltoic. I tried to find Feebas myself for AGES, but no luck. Then, my mum actually FOUND one, but it was MALE. At this time, FR/LG weren't out, so we were a little gutted. Then... she found ANOTHER one; this time it WAS female. I bred them for Dragonbreath and we went from there. Then, back when I first learned about EVs (around 1 year before D/P... which was annoying) I raised my proper Milotic up, and she has been a staple in my teams ever since. Combining with Ninetails (another of my old-school faves), they can confuse both opposition right from the start. If I know she'll have a special attack launched at her, she can Mirror Coat it. I should raise another one for more defense I guess, but... I love my Mild one too much! It has virtually max speed and Sp.ATK IV's... can't complain too much ^_^


Obviously this isn't the ONLY way to write these, but it's a good start if you're unsure.

So, let's see (for the 2nd time) how the people of pokebeack bond with their pokemon! :D


EDIT: OK, so it was brought to my attention that I should credit the original idea by posting links to the pages that gave rise to this. Which is fair enough - I hadn't thought about that since I was essentially just "reviving" a dead topic. After all, I know there's rules about not being able to post in old topics... so I needed to make a new one for this.

Anyways, here is the inseparable pokemon thread, and this is the original thread regarding Ryan's lost Wailord, Greatblue. If you want to know where the idea of this thread originated, there's where you look. Oh, and this is the link to my story - the whole reason for me reviving this thread. After all, this thread is meant to be inspiration for this story. I also NEED reviews on this thing... so help me out please!

Just remember that I only put this up because you can't revive old topics - otherwise I'd have posted in the original one.
 
Well i think this is a good idea, ok here are my stories from the other thread, typhlosion isnt too long so you dont have to use it!

I knew this idea was good!! I love reading these stories!! Ok so you all no that I have an inseperable bond with my raichu, (on the first page) Ok this is atcually a good story!! Well I caught it in emerald as just a pikachu in the safari zone, nothing out of the ordinary. Well I trained it as pikachu probably till lvl 50 or so, well I was also training an eevee at that time that I had brought in from another game, well eevee was 30 and pikachu was 50 or so and I got a thunder stone too evolve eevee into jolteon!! well I had pikachu in party at that time as well and I wasnt paying too much atttention to it and I accidently clicked pikachu and it evolved into a Raichu, wala!! I started training raichu alot more and I kept it in emerald for a while but then I brought it too diamond and it got too lvl 100 there!! if you want to no what happened to eevee I ended up evolving it into a vaporeon instead because water pokemon are AWSOME!! But thats my story and me and rai rai are still cruisen sinnoh knockin out people as fast as we can !!

I no wat its like to loose a pokemon, I lost my great friend typhlosion it crystal! He was lost when my little cousin threw my gameboy into a pool, typhlosion isnt a great swimmer!! But even though in anygame I always choose a water pokemon for my starter, if its gold, silver or crystal I choose cyndaquil to have typlosion live on!!

well you know about my amazing Raichu but let me tell you about my dewgong in my Leaf Green!! Dewgong isnt Lvl 100 but I think its like 87 or so but for days at a time all I would have in my leaf green party was my dewgong and my furret!! Trained them both, I eventully got furret to 60 or so and my awsome dewgong to 87 or so. The reason Dewgong is so special to me is because when I was battling the elite four I was up to the master and all my pokemon and his pokemon were fainted except my dewgong and 1 of his pokemon ( I cant remember what it was) I was low on hp and his pokemon had full, I used sheer cold and sure enough it won it for me!! He really helped me and I would never trade him!!
 
dude, did ryan give you permission? if not this is like stealing and turning it into something else -_-
 
I dont think Ryan will mind as long as credit is given for the original thread, actually i gave him the idea for the thread! Unless Ryan has a huge problem with it i think its fine, i would post a link to the old thread and the greatblue thread though!

I see a lot of views, but not a lot of stories! Is there a reason for people not wanting to help me or something? Or do you not like the idea of using people's STORIES, rather than created characters, in a fic?
 
Well, there is the story of me and my Charizard. But it is way too long so I can't post it right now since I don't have much more time on the computer.
 
yeah i love my starmie. i got it at level 17 as stAryu 6 days ago and has beaten elite 4 about 15 times. now is lv.84 and i am trying to get lv.100 starmie. i also like furret,buizel, and spheal. furret and buizel because i am a "furrymuskrat" kind a guy and no reason 4 liking spheal. i just love i . it's so cute!!!!!
 
Len, I look forward to hearing that story when you get time! Since my fic is based on going through an effective game, I'll have the time to put in things like that... if I can get enough stories from individual types I can put them all in nicely!

Furroshi, can you elaborate a little on the Starmie? Like, why do you like Starmie? or more to the point, has anything special happened when you've used it? Like monkeyking and his Dewgong - he had a special reason for liking him :)

If you want me to do something with any of the others, you'll need to give me a story for them - like your Starmie, but slightly more in-depth (MAYBE like my Milotic or Jolteon; I think they're the best examples I have). If you don't want to do that here then PM me with the details and I'll see how and when I can fit them in.

well starmie is just plain cool with a jewel inside it. it also can learn 4 great moves
oh yeah and when lances gyarados kept paralyzing me. i kept losing cuz he always attackes furst. but starmie at lv.57 attacked first and OHKO'd gyarados with thunderbolt. i beat the game cuz of dat.
 
Well, my Charizard started out as a little lv5 Charmander in my Leafgreen. He was in a well trained team with other cool pokemon, except he was the best. He is always in my team no matter what. in ever battle I do he is in my team, for training he is in my team. There was only one time I took him out was when I was doing the main storyline but that didn't really count. When I fought the league he was a huge help. His Fly killed Bruno's pokemon and his Return attack is amazing and can kill a steelix lv60 something in one hit (he loves me so much, also the fact that he is lv100). So ya, me and Charizard are best buds when it comes to anything.
 
Hmm hmm... nice! I will try and get these into the story at some point, although WHEN depends on how far I get. If the intention is to get most of these for gym leaders to use, it'll naturally take until I get to them for the stories to show.

However, my main concern is actually GETTING people to read through my story in the first place... it's a tad longer than the average story on here, and so maybe people are put off by it. Please read it anyhow! I'm really hoping that SOMEONE out there can see the goodness of it. The link is in my sig and at the top of the page, so it's not hard to find :p

Nice... I'll look forward to the full version then! I'm sure that'll give me some proper inspiration when it comes to using a fire gym :)

well.... hmmm. when i got my starter pokemon in D/P, i got an adamant Infernape. i raised it and raised it (now it is lv.97) and i got told it ws the wrong nature... i have now got the courage to use a jolly one instead =/

in emerald, i fell literally in love with altaria. i raised a swablu until it was lv.45 (at the moment it is too), and quit training that to train a jolly sharpedo.

in D/P, i also wanted an eeveelution for my team, so i raised an espeon (now lv.100 yey!), so i just raised it whenever i could.

currently, i am training a togekiss, it is ev trained, and nearly lv.100 =P

It's cool - I wasn't meaning to "forget" the roots of this by not intially providing the links. The whole idea of thins thread was to revive yours legally and to provide inspiration. And don't worry, I can't forget your Greatblue in the fic!

There's only one REAL thing I need so far in my fic, and onething that would be nice.

I NEED stories to provide inspiration regarding what pokemon and backgrounds I should use in the fic.

I could DO with potential Trainer Cards for the end of my chapters... or maybe the start of each one. You know, a quick thing showing what pokemon each trainer has at the start/end of each chapter. It isn't a necessity, but it may help readers keep a track over which pokemon the heros etc have.

That isn't a real issue, but since I don't have the knowledge etc to make them myself (I'd need to get all the sprites and crap downoaded for one, since I'm not always on the net) it'd be nice to get them done. But these would only be as a help to the reader... so they aren't needed unless they're offered :p
 
Anyone else got some stories to tell? I'm particularily looking for differen psychic, ground or dark pokemon stories, but any others are equally important, so tell away!
 
OK... if nobody else is going to give me stories, I'm just gonna have to use my own much more. I would prefer to have others in here as well though - so PLEASE give me some more to use! This is the last chance - I'm giving up on asking for inspiration after this.
 
Well if you want to know more about dewgong I'll give it to you. Well I caught it in the cave in which you catch Articuno, It was the first Seel I saw and i decided to catch it even if it wasn't evolved and one of the lower levels. Well after my Articuno catch I decided to train it a little since I have always loved Dewgong. Well I did, the first level it went up of course it evolved, I think i went into the elite 4 with it a level 55 or 60. But you know the rest! Hope this helps!
