Ruling Blacksmith with Double Dragon Energy

Sorry I don't know how to do the spoiler tab thing, but...

If I have a flaeron in play and noivern in play, can I use blacksmith to put the double dragon energy onto noivern, and can I put 2 ( blacksmith says 2 [R] energy, not sure if it refers to energy units or cards) double dragon energy on it?

For that matter, can Xerneas (below) use geomancy to put Double dragon energy onto a benched dragon? (since double dragon energy lacks the crucial "while in play" part that other cards like rainbow energy have)

This gets me thinking... would double dragon energy work with these too?

Read DDE carefully. It only counts as every type of Energy while it's in play. You can't use Blacksmith, Bronzong, or Eelectrik to fetch it from the discard. Same for Rainbow, Prism, Blends, etc.
