Pokemon Battle Tower

I've challenged the Battle Tower numerous times, but I can't seem to be able to beat it. So I'm wondering: what would be a good team to beat it with? It doesn't matter if it's a team for Double Battles or Single Battles.
My current team:

Electivire @ Leftovers
*Earthquake
*Ice Punch
*Cross Chop
*Thunderpunch

Empoleon @ Focus Sash
*Surf
*Drill Peck
*Ice Beam
*Hydro Pump

Crobat @ Shell Bell
*Fly
*Cross Poison
*Air Slash
*Bite

I recently caught a shiny Ralts (Adamant), so I decided to use it.
I add it for Double Battles, or replace Crobat by it for Single Battles.

Gallade @ Expert Belt
*Psyco Cut
*Protect
*Close Combat
*Night Slash

=> Gallade and Electivire are both EV-trained, but their IV's really suck.
Empoleon and Crobat are from my team which I beat the game with, so they have random EV's and I don't know their IV's.

P.S. Does it matter if you choose Double or Single Battles to get that Trainer card Star?

This should really go into the RMT sub forum.

But for starters, I suggest you learn the lesson of not putting physical moves on special attack pokemon. Shell bell on Crobat doesn't make much sense...you'd be better off using something like choice band on that.

And please seek out an EV guide.
