I’ve thought of new ways for people to play the TCG just for fun.
Turn Challenge:
If a player knows that his/her opponent has no chance defeating him or her, the stronger player has the regular six prize cards. The weaker player has 12 as a default setting for his prize cards BUT takes a prize card between turns. The number of prize cards of the weaker player depends on the difference of skill between the players. The weaker he is, the less prize cards.
Prize less:
Neither player has any prizes. They only beat each other by either finishing the pokemon in play, or draining their decks.
Survival:
The players fight normally, but the player who wins, fights again and doesn’t use the cards in his/her discard pile in the next battle. Count the number of times that player wins!
Continuous:
A game where either player will not lose when all pokemon in play are lost, or the decks are drained. They fight until all prize cards are lost!
Handicap:
A player asks his/her opponent how many prizes he is willing to play, and vice versa, simply prizes are adjustable.
Assassination:
Both players show their opponent one pokemon from their respective decks. The opposing player will win if he kills that pokemon you chose. Decide whether there is a turn/time limit to playing that pokemon. Meaning if either player doesn’t get to play the pokemon they chose within the set number of turns, they lose because it’s cheating if you don’t play that pokemon for your opponent not to be able to knock it out.
Time limit:
Here you time the battle how you think you will last. You have to beat your opponent within the set time. What I mean by time is the one on your watch, not turn based.
Turn limit:
Similar to Time limit except that you time with turns.
Effortless:
Either Player’s pokemon can attack withouth using energies. Any card that says,”For each energy card attached to the defending pokemon”, or, “This attack does (X0) more damage for each energy card attached to X” applies only if you have the extra energy. X meaning it is not specified.
Bullet Time:
Players draw only once every two turns. Draw cards are rounded up.(optional) Example:
Fieldworker: 3/2 = 2
Double Time:
Each player draws two cards instead of one. Draw card effects are doubled.(optional)
Power Zero:
No Pokemon powers/bodies can be played.
Swap:
Every turn, each player can switch his/her active pokemon with his opponent’s. When his turn ends, return the switched card.
Gravity Zero:
Either player can retreat their pokemon for no cost.
