Ruling Azelf's Time Walk to Mark Prizes???

I'm running Azelf in my Machamp/Flygon deck which is very useful for obvious reasons. When you bench Azelf, "Time Walk" lets you look at your prizes, select any card, and replace it with a card from your hand. Basically, if you know what's in your deck, Azelf is like a free Computer Search of your prizes, and since it's a basic, you can Rosanne AND Bebe for it.
So anyway, I know that once you look at your prizes, you can arrange them in such a way where you can remember them. For example, put the trainers back in one pile, energy in another, and Pokemon in another, so as you KO, you have a choice of which prize to grab. My question is this: Can you go one step further and mark your prizes to make it easier to remember what is where? Put 1 damage counter on trainers, a dice on Pokemon, 2 counters on energy, etc...? Or is that considered cheating?

No you cannot mark prizes. It was ruled shortly after the card was released. Unfortunatly we are stuck with our terrible memories.

I believe you are allowed to take notes however.

while you can take notes, you may not notate your prizes...you can only take notes on common knowledge...such as the game state, what's in the discard pile, etc

To further address the question, if you laid your prizes out in a 2x3 array and used Time Walk, they would have to get put back in a 2x3 array. Regarding note taking, the notes cannot be coded in any way. Just thought I would try eliminating a few follow up quesitons.
