Ruling Arceus (metal) vs Mewtwo LvX

I've gotten conflicting rulings on this.

Arceus (metal)
Does 40 damage and prevents all effects of an attack including damage from a LvX during the opponent's next turn.

Mewtwo LvX
Poke-body; Prevents damage and effects done to Mewtwo from non-evolved pokemon.

Mewtwo would stop the damage, but does it also prevent Arceus from protecting itself during the next turn as the effect of the attack isn't targeted towards Mewtwo?

No, a similiar ruling was with Latios Ex's Ice Barrier attacking a Safeguard Pokemon - the effect is placed on the Pokemon using the attack, in this case Arceus. Mewtwo only stops the effects that Arceus would do to Mewtwo himself - and the effect of the attack is in this case not placed on Mewtwo but on Arceus, therefore Arceus gains immunity from LVX attacks.
