I was wondering, hwo do you move threads? If they are in the wrong spot. I've noticed a few sometimes, an dI don't know how to move them. Can only the mods do that or what? I'm confused here!

Yes, that's the speical skill of the Mods. We can't move threads or it would be chaos. ://

dmaster out.

Moderators have many, many special features on their Pokebeach Forums Window. They can Move, Lock or Merge (IIRC) threads, while being able to edit posts, or even delete a post/thread. They have the right to warn, or edit your post in any way that is appropriate.

Hope this clears some answers up.

I know that, I meant how does the merge tool work? What does it do? Something like that....

You can copy certain posts from an old thread, and 'paste' it in another thread, in any part of the thread. Simply put it, it is merely combining the 2 threads together, like LV said.

I know, I've seen SNN do it when I went to his house.

Moving is simply the process of transferring one thread from a forum to another forum, where the location is more appropriate. If you see a thread in a wrong location, just report it. It's not an offense to post your threads in the wrong place, but it would save us a lot of trouble if everyone could look at all the forums and find the correct place to post his or her own thread.

Merging, on the other hand, is an action that moderators hardly do. Once in a blue moon, a situation where we need to put two threads together will arise. One example was the one where I merged the guides in the Gaming Discussion forum due to a plethora of stickied threads, but the problem is, you can't separate those threads. I do not think we'll need to merge any thread in the near future.

The most common action a moderator does is locking. I'm sure you know why. And that summarises the job of a mod. Locking, moving and warning. There's absolutely nothing else. :O

yea, i know about locking very well, since i go here a lot and see threads get locked everyday. I think that is the biggest problem here on the forums......no offense!

Well, if you guys wouldn't make so many spam threads and revive so many threads, you'd see a lot less locked threads. :O

I agree with Amt. But what can you do when we have an influx of n00bs who fail to read the rules ?

Well, you can't do anything. It just goes on in a cycle. It can't be helped. At least there haven't been many locked threads in this forum for quite some time now.

If you want to move certain threads you can delete the one in the wrong spot and recreate it in the right spot. You can't technically move it like a mod but this is the only alternative way for regular members to move threads. Once it is locked it can't be done except by a mod.:)
