An Offensive View Of Things

Chaos Jackal

So, I recently began getting into Ubers. I really like the playstyles; in some regards, I consider Ubers better than OU. This is a team I made based on what I really love in battling: Offense. The sheer power that most Ubers possess is ideal for such a team. So without any further ado, let the rating commence!

Strategy
As depicted above, this team is mostly about offense. The goal is to allow one of the powerhouses that make it up to set up, then proceed to erase all life from the screen. As such, Natures and EVs are distributed to allow maximum power.

The Pokemon

[animate]deoxys_a[/animate]
Deoxys-A
Trait: Pressure
Item: Focus Sash
Naive Nature
252SpA, 252Spe, 4Atk
Moves:
Psycho Boost
Ice Beam
Superpower
ExtremeSpeed
The epitome of offense and king of destruction, Deoxys-A couldn't be absent from the team. With its incredible offenses and Speed, Deoxys is the perfect anti-lead. With Focus Sash equipped, it can defeat or damage beyond repair any Pokemon not named Giratina. Its huge movepool allows for coverage against almost anything and its offense makes sure everything will break even without Life Orb. Naive Nature allow it to outspeed other Deoxys that run Rash or Mild Natures, while the EV spread emphasizes on Psycho Boost's damage.

[animate]kyogre[/animate]
Kyogre
Trait: Drizzle
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold
252SpA, 252Def, 4HP
Moves:
Surf
Thunder
Ice Beam
Calm Mind
Kyogre is the weather inducer as well as a special sweeper. While the choice of item, moves and EVs might seem lesser compared to Specs or SubCM, that isn't the case. This set is designed to be a versatile sweeper, meaning that the instant power of Specs and the bigger bulk of SubCM have been swapped for a set whose purpose is setup and sweep, using Kyogre's great move coverage.

[animate]palkia[/animate]
Palkia
Trait: Pressure
Item: Choice Scarf
Timid Nature
252SpA, 252Spe, 4HP
Moves:
Spacial Rend
Surf
Fire Blast
Thunder
This is self-explanatory. Palkia is a revenge killer who takes advantage of the rain and its great typing to wreak havoc in opposing teams. Fire Blast is for Steel-types, mainly the annoying Ferrothorn. The rest of the moves provide STAB and coverage.

[animate]ferrothorn[/animate]
Ferrothorn
Trait: Iron Barbs
Item: Leftovers
Sassy Nature
252HP, 108Def, 148SpD
Moves:
Gyro Ball
Stealth Rock
Thunder Wave
Leech Seed
Even the most powerful Pokemon can't win on force alone. They need coverage to prevent themselves from getting outsped or taking too much damage. Ferrothorn does just that. With its amazing defenses and great typing, Ferrothorn can tank the common Dragon-type moves as well as Pokemon such as ExtremeKiller Arceus. To add to that, it has the ability to set up Stealth Rock as well as crippling opponents with Leech Seed and Thunder Wave. Finally, Gyro Ball prevents Ferrothorn from becoming Taunt bait and packs quite a punch thanks to the high speed that most Ubers have.

[animate]rayquaza[/animate]
Rayquaza
Trait: Air Lock
Item: Life Orb
Adamant Nature
252Atk, 252Spe, 4HP
Moves:
Outrage
V-Create
ExtremeSpeed
Dragon Dance
The dragon king of Pokemon is here! The Dragon Dance set of Rayquaza is even more fearsome now than ever before, thanks to the addition of V-Create. With that, Rayquaza can just set up a Dragon Dance and proceed to eliminate any opponent with its STAB and the Fire-type coverage. ExtremeSpeed is the icing in the cake, providing Rayquaza with the game's strongest priority move, allowing it to defeat even Scarfed Pokemon.

[animate]arceus[/animate]
Arceus
Trait: Multitype
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
224HP, 252Atk, 32Spe
Moves:
ExtremeSpeed
Earthquake
Shadow Claw
Swords Dance
This is the set that made me try Ubers. The infamous ExtremeKiller Arceus couldn't possibly be absent from my team. Packing great overall bulk and decent Speed thanks to Arceus' ridiculously good stats, most of the time this set guarantees a setup and proceeds to OHKO all opponents with either STAB ExtremeSpeed or the appropriate coverage move.

Special thanks to King Arceus for teaching me the basics of Ubers.
Had a good look? Then, proceed to rating!

Changes: Changed Deoxys' Shadow Ball to Ice Beam.
Changed Kyogre's Nature.
Picked Fire Blast over Aura Sphere for Palkia.

Deoxys-A: I'd change Shadow Ball to Ice Beam because it lets you cover Rayquaza which is sometimes used as an antilead. It also allows it to do a huge hit to Groudon without lowering your Special Attack from using Psycho Boost. Speaking of Psycho Boost, I think you might find it more beneficial to run Thunder. It may not get STAB, but many Pokemon resist Psychic-Type moves. Coverage is more important in Ubers than STAB. Thunder also enables you to hit Kyogre very hard along with a 30% chance of paralyzing it if it survives. If it switches out, you still have the high paralysis chance and didn't lower your Special Attack in the process.

Kyogre: When you put Calm Mind on a Kyogre set, the set should be able to tank attacks well. Life Orb doesn't help it survive attacks either, though it makes them hit harder. I'd suggest either switching to Scarf / Specs and add Water Spout instead of Calm Mind or give it some defensive EVs and switch to Leftovers. Specs is the only set that can reliably defeat Blissey while Scarf can let it get in powerful Water Spouts. If you are using a choice set, Timid nature is the one you want. If you go the defensive route, Bold nature would be best as it can't boost its defense and gives it some insurance against Groudon who has already used Rock Polish.

Palkia: Fire Blast is the one I would recommend because it enables it to threaten Ferrothorn more. You should not be using it to defeat Ferrothorn regularly though if you can avoid it since you'll get paralyzed in the process.

After you make some of these changes Ferrothorn is going to be the biggest problem to get rid of. You'll just have to play smart to get by it. Make sure you don't lose Rayquaza to early.

Overall it seems like you formed a great team. Good job my student. ;)

I made most of the changes. However, I'd rather keep Psycho Boost on Deoxys instead of Thunder, mostly because Thunder can only be used against enemy Kyogres. Without Rain, it's too risky.
On Kyogre's part, I'd rather go for the defensive route, since I'm not a great fan of Choice items. Any suggestions on an EV spread?
