Ampharos Prime

Now we all know that the HGSS base set has provided us with some good cards, but some not so good cards. If you take a look at the Primes, you see that "most"(emphasis on most) of these have potential. Meganium Prime goes with Blissey Prime. Typhlosion Prime goes with Charizard, and Feraligatr Prime goes with Blastoise UL and Golduck TR(and even Lanturn Prime). Do I even have to mention Donphan Prime? It can run a deck by itself. Now take a minute to look at Ampharos Prime. I have sat down for at least 20 minutes, looking at all of the strategies, but cannot think of anything that can combo with this card. Please cure my depression concerning this card and post!

Garchomp SV + Ampharos Prime

The Strategy should be fairly obvious. (look at there Poké-Bodies) Though the combination of 2 stage 2 pokemon that need to be played in numerous numbers to be effective (2-1-2 Amphy at the most). So the deck will be quite bulky though you could get away with a 1-1-1 Amphy prime, though you really want its body to stack.

How about the Ampharos that doesn't let you use Powers if there are damage counters on the Pokémon? Those could go well, especially since they're from the same evo line.

Helllllloooooo Electivire from Triumphant. i use him with my Ampharos prime. it does 10 for putting down an energy and then 50 to all pokemon with energies with electivire. or have Electivire x and the electivire from Triumphant and then it adds 30 damage for each energy put down then 50 from Electivire. YOUR DOING 80!!! If only i had Electivire x still

oh ya......well still electivire TR with Ampharos prime is a killer team. i use it and it kills all basics they have.

Or just play a ampharos deck and tech something you might need to improve the match vs. (like a tech vs donphan prime). Run a 4-3-4 line with 3 or 2 primes and 1 or 2 damage bind to prevent powers. And then maybe add in 1 or 2 electrode prime to fasten your energy attachment (if you play this remember to play twins and junk arm and maybe vs seeker if you have the space). I could make you a deck list of 50 or so cards and then you could add your own touch to it if you want to test it.

ampharos prime is not a heavy hitter. he is just there to pile damage on your opponents bench. so yuki that wouldnt work very well. i usually do ampharos from HGSS and put a expert belt on him so he does 100 and maybe only 20 to himself.

It doesn't do too well, but it could do OK with Ampharos as the main attacker. 80 or 40 and a discarded energy (meaning 50 once they put another back on), plus E-Belt makes 100 or 60 and discarded energy, 70 once they put it back on. Those tails will get yur opponent annoyed.

Yeah I ran that deck last format, quite fun actually. With MD-On it's nowhere near as consistent as it was last format due to the loss of Claydol GE and Roseanne's Research. I also used to run an Exploud SV tech to help get around {F} Weakness with Ampharos Prime.

The setup it requires without Claydol would be too slow and it wouldn't be able to keep up with SP's and Charizard because it has Ninetales HGSS to speed it up substatially with Roast Reveal. Sure there's the
Uxie LA + Seeker combo but it's not going to help Garchomp/Ampharos at all unless we get something that replaces Claydol to help with Non-{R} decks.

Other Aggro Rush decks like Gyarados and Mightyena/Skuntank G would crush it as well. I played against Mightyena/Skuntank G at Cities last weekend and it's really fast because of how cheap Cold Feet is on Mightyena while getting Poison off with Skuntank G.
