Ruling Alakazam MT vs various pokepowers

Does my opponent have to declare which of my benched pokemon he is going to pull to the active position with Luxray lvl X's Bright Look before i decide if i want to discard two cards to block it with Power Cancel or do I have to decide to use Power Cancel just as soon as they invoke a particular power? What about flippy powers like Absol lvl X's Darkness Send, do they flip then I decide or do I decide before the flip(s)? And finally would the same guidelines apply to the Power Spray trainer in an SP deck?

You have to do both of them right away, as flipping and choosing are effects of the powers, and power spray/cancel stops all effects of the power as soon as it is declared.
