I have already made many banners/avatars, and as such I will just link you to my Photobucket album where you can view a full gallery of all my misc avatars, signatures, and banners. Also what is in that album are not in order of when I made them, my newer ones are the smaller sized ones.

I currently like what I see. However, some of the tags are a little bit bland and the text is very hard to read. Can I assume those are your older ones?

Yes that was one of my first ones when I just started using GIMP, pretty much all of the large 550x150 images are my among my firsts. The smaller ones, around the size of my current signature are the newer ones.
