Ruling Advanced Reaper Cloth Item

I've seen alot of posts asking "Can a Lv.X use a item?"
The awnser to all of these is yes, but I was wonder, let's say I have an Active reaper Cloth Duskull. I equip a Memory Berry to it and evolve it into Dusclops on my 1st turn, could I then evolve it again into a Dusnknoir because of Memory Berry?

Reaper Cloth is not an attack, ergo, you cannot use it with memory berry.
