It's a design contest on a pokemon site. I host a sotw on a massive gaming forum, and not always the person with the best ability wins. There's a reason too, not everyone knows that. If you want to win a sotw because you're technically superior to everyone, this is not the place to do it...

Then don't count it. I'm not here to prove a point, you clearly are. Besides, the community decides who wins. If they're particularly outraged by my breach of the rules then they can add that to their vote.
