News New 'Mega Powers Collection' in May Featuring Four New Full Arts!

Hmm... does this mean that all Mega Pokemon in the TCG have access to Spirit Links now? Or are a handful still missing?

Suggestions for a Infernape (Steam Siege ) deck

Hmm... that sounds pretty cool, actually. The problem, of course, lies in that the deck would revolve around two Stage 2's, so a good chunk of the deck would have to be dedicated to getting those guys out pretty fast. Wallys, Rare Candies, maybe Evosodas. Not to mention at least 10 cards...

    Discussion Greedy Dice

If there were good Pokemon who benefitted from discarding Item cards, Greedy Dice would be a great fit if there's room. Even if it doesn't end up in the Prize cards, it's a free discard.

Discussion Deck Ideas for Steam Seige Toxicroak

Hmm. If you don't have a specific Stadium already in mind, try running Shrine of Memories. It gives you access to Poison Up even as a Toxicroak. Chaos Tower might work better, but I think SoM might be worth it as a tech choice.

Suggestions for a Infernape (Steam Siege ) deck

Why is there Double Colorless Energy in this deck? The only Pokemon that would actually be able to use it is Shaymin EX. No other Pokemon would be able to use it at all, from what I can tell. I'm not sure Volcanion will have the effect we want. You're pulling energy out of the discard pile 2...

Blog No More Night March! Celebrating the New Standard Format and Some Theorymon

Unfortunately, the new Infernape doesn't benefit from Volcanion half of the engine because it's a Stage 2 and his main attraction, Flare Up, wants energies to stay in the discard pile. Kinda disappointed that Infernape came one expansion too late to really shine in Standard.

Bounsweet, Bewear, Comfey, Mudsdale, Mimikyu, Wimpod!

    > Bewear > is bear > gives manliest, most dangerous hugs ever I am now officially putting this guy on my team. He is one of only a few Pokemon that communes with my soul so distinctively.

New Bear Pokemon Kiteruguma and Ghost Pokemon Mimikkyu in 'CoroCoro!'

Keeping an eye on that bear. The way it carries itself in its reveal trailer will be the deciding factor of whether or not I like it. Because so far, I REALLY like it. It's a bear that loves you so much, he'll kill you with kindness.

    P!P/Rules Primal Clash-on Confirmed for 2017 Season

I'm just sad that Infernape will be extremely difficult to build a deck around in Standard, if at all. It loses Blacksmith, Battle Compressor, and Fiery Torch before it even has a chance to use it. Its only hope to see the light of day in Standard is for strong discard tools to appear in one...

    2017 Format Rotation Announced!

Whelp, Infernape won't be viable in Standard, with such important discard tools gone. Expanded format it is.

Blog Steamy Surprises: An In-Depth Look at Steam Siege and Worlds

I personally think the 1 retreat cost helps a little bit, due to discarding energy being a good thing in this deck. If it's a bother, Float Stone is always a thing, but Muscle Band is probably a better fit for the deck. Muscle Band lets Flare Up knock out all but a handful of the Mega Pokemon...

Blog Steamy Surprises: An In-Depth Look at Steam Siege and Worlds

You'd have to have multiple Infernape at the ready on the bench for successive uses of Flare Drive. And up until my most recent version of the list, it did have two Burning Energies. I determined at some point that having a couple of Miltanks in the deck hitting for 80 would make up for the...

Blog Steamy Surprises: An In-Depth Look at Steam Siege and Worlds

As is obvious with the deck list I posted a week or two ago, I see some nice potential in Infernape. By the nature of his design, he won't be throwing down on turn one, nor will he using the main attraction, Flare Up, all too much. A major weakness of the deck that I have discovered is that it...

    XY11 Infernape Deck

Took bbninjas' suggestion and removed a Burning Energy and placed an extra Miltank in there. The remaining Burning Energy is now a Blacksmith, keeping my total to 14. Yeesh, that's a lot of energy. Is there anything else I should do? I don't think there's room for another Entei, considering...

    XY11 Infernape Deck

All noted. I am aware of Burning Energy's disadvantages, so they're really just a tech choice. They're in case I can only get one Infernape on the board, since Flare Drive discards two energy at once. Given that my hands are energy heavy, I might not have the resources in hand to retrieve the...

    XY11 Infernape Deck

So, I'm a really new player in the scene. As in, I only started to actually understand how everything worked within the past week. I understand the basics of what makes good and bad cards and the importance of maintaining your hand of cards and your discard pile according to what kind of deck...

    XY11 Infernape Deck Help

I am aware that Burning Energy only re-attaches if it's discarded through that Pokemon's attack. I wasn't planning on discarding the Burning Energy to retreat, either. I'm determined to at least try it out as a tech option despite the risks. You bring up undeniable points, either way.

    XY11 Infernape Deck Help

The suggestion of removing one of each Sycamore and Lysandre let me realize the actual value of the Vs. Seeker. It's not just for retrieval from the discard pile; it's like having an extra copy of the card, but gives you versatility by letting you bring out whatever you need. I'll do just...

Help The "Is There A Card That Does This?" Thread

I'm looking into making this as budget as possible, so I'll likely look at the EX Pokemon last to fill the spot. However, I do have a good chunk of the starred cards already thanks to the basic sets the TCGO gives you. I'll look for a couple of Max Potions and Fiery Torches, as well as a full...
