I understand that they can switch and retreat out of Doom News, but if I'm controlling their cards, how are they able to retreat out of it? I can make sure they aren't able to retreat after a Doom news

Hold on... before we freeze the lake I'm pretty sure I saw something in the water. Should we hold off and have some flying Pokémon scope out the lake before freezing it and any Pokémon or monster in it?
