Here is what I came up with for the reddit/ptcgo tournament. That tournament has some budget rules (no EX, no BREAK), which actually hurts me, since I find this deck does well against EX decks. The only deck it auto-loses against is Greninja, for obvious reasons. Here is the deck in action...

If you're worried about those specific decks (MMew/MRay), then why not counter with some combination of Regice, Glaceon, Jolteon?

Agree with Tuxedo. Also depends on the meta available. A few sets ago, in Standard getting special energy out of the discard was extremely costly, so Sycamore wasn't ideal for every deck. Additionally in some decks I prefer Shauna over Birch. I'd rather know I'm getting 5 cards instead of...
