News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

It's sort of tough to tell with this card... I noticed the comments here are pretty divided; some people think it's awesome, some think it's pretty much useless. As for myself, I'm leaning towards liking it. One thing I haven't seen anyone address is how this card could be used in conjunction...

Love Tauros-GX for its raw power and ease of use.

News 'Sun and Moon Strengthening Expansion Pack'

Love Altar of the Moone. Cool name, great art, and I can't wait to put it in Yveltal/Garbodor. Lurantis could be pretty good in a format without Garb + no tool removal, but as it is, I'm not sure it will see much play.

Blog Addressing the Bird in the Room — Yveltal's Impact on the Standard Meta

After having played lot's of games with Jirachi in Yveltal/Garbodor, I can now completely agree with you. There are just way too many situations I've found myself in recently where I have a Max Elixir (or two) and a Sycamore in hand, and my only benched attacker is Jirachi. Or other situations...

Blog Addressing the Bird in the Room — Yveltal's Impact on the Standard Meta

Personally, I've found 2 Enhanced Hammer to be indispensable. I've tested alot of different Yveltal variants this season, but whenever I've used lists that had less than 2 EH, I would often find myself losing to the likes of Rainbow Road, M Ray and even M Mewtwo. Thing is: Yveltal/Garbodor...

Blog Addressing the Bird in the Room — Yveltal's Impact on the Standard Meta

Fantastic article! Even as a heavy, hard-core Yveltal player myself, I found a lot of your points illuminating, especially the tech-out section. I agree that Oblivion Wing Yveltal is surprisingly unnecessary these days, while EH despite being a little weird in a deck based on Evil Ball...

Discussion Winners of December's TCG Cup Crowned! Deck Lists and Interview!

Friend mode is in unlimited and none of those tools (or any card for that matter) is banned in unlimited. So it doesn't affect the tournament.

Blog Marching On Through Hell and High Water: Five Ways to Play Night March in a Hostile Meta

So many conflicting opinions on this throughout the web. But I just tested this on the TCGO and it seems you are right. Just about a month ago I was playing Yveltal/Maxie's and someone used Rare Candy to cut through Ancient Power, though, so it looks like this is a recent change? And of course...

Blog Marching On Through Hell and High Water: Five Ways to Play Night March in a Hostile Meta

Thanks for the constructive comment! Yeah, the amount of value (extra situations you have good answers to) that you get from simply adding 2 DDE, 1 Latios, and 1 Giratina is significant. Feel free to try it out for yourself. The variant before it (with Red Card, Captivating Pokepuff, Delinquent...

Blog Marching On Through Hell and High Water: Five Ways to Play Night March in a Hostile Meta

I thought that at first, too. However, I've read that at the NVI prereleases, judges were given a FAQ sheet that stated that Rare Candy does indeed allow the Pokemon to be evolved despite Ancient Power. Also, the PTCGO allows Rare Candy to go through Ancient Power. I guess it's because of the...

Blog Fear the Night: Yveltal in the Standard Format

Haha yeah, good point. I can see what you mean; I often feel that, too. I agree that the accuracy of numerical matchup ratios can be offset by intangibles like opponent's behavior and techs. On the other hand, I'm not sure that the author giving a general opinion via a ratio really hurts enough...

Blog Fear the Night: Yveltal in the Standard Format

Aw, thank you!! Yeah, Rainbow Road can be pretty close. But Darkrai/Giratina: 50/50? Oh man, the mirror....! Well, I would say that the more of these points that a given player achieves, the more likely they will win: -gets off the first Pitch-Black Spear -gets Parallel City out first...

Blog Fear the Night: Yveltal in the Standard Format

Thank you! It's tempting for sure, but space is super tight for this list. Also, Baleful Night's Energy requirement can be tricky to pull off, considering that you normally just want to have a DCE and a Dark attached to Yveltal BT (Ninja boy, yes, but still...). Hmm, I don't think Garbodor is...
