Japan's XY9 Set: 'Rage of the Broken Sky,' New 'Battle Strengthening Sets'

Nothing could possibly go wrong with two Stage 2s in a deck.

I think this card is incredibly playable on the item lock Trevenant. Trevenant Shaymin comeback?

    M Manectric-EX Variants

The best Manectric deck right now is Manectric Articuno Regice.

Hmm.. this isnt very good. It definitely should have been any Pokemon not just active. I dont think there is much reason to play this card when Jirachi exists but I hope Im wrong.

Scizor is my man. Im not displeased by this card, artwork is good, attacks are decent. 2 retreat is a bummer but its all about the mega. Please be a playable one.

    Vespiquen Variants

There is no way Lugia does anything to Night March, getting knocked out with just 5 marchers in the discard. Or 4 with Muscle Band.

110 HP on a stage 2, literally dies to everything in the format. Ugly.

Somehow they like to put these spread damage cards in every set and they are always bad and never work. I dont understand.

You cant play solo Seismitoad anymore because 30/50 a turn just doesnt cut it. Seismitoad nowadays is just used as a slowing device to give you more time to setup your real threats. Not to mention Vespiquen and Sceptile are very real decks atm and completely poop on Toad. Basically it is no...

Japan's XY9 Set: 'Rage of the Broken Sky,' New 'Battle Strengthening Sets'

Item lock is honestly pretty dead in standard, this thing will have plenty of counters if it ever gets out of hand, Im not worried about this. Parallel City is almost better at hosing Shaymins and Bronzongs than this.

The designer for Greninja BREAK could not have possibly been lazier. You double the effect of old Greninja and call it a day? What a terrible card. Manaphy is pretty exciting though. No retreat is so powerful I would be surprised if there isnt a deck to abuse it. Especially with Rough Seas...

M Sceptile deck ended up winning UK regionals last weekend. A pretty standard pure grass Sceptile deck.

Discussion Why Parallel City Won't Be a Staple

The real problem is that the card doesnt do anything for you when you play it and relies on the fact that your opponent doesnt have his own stadium to get any value. Good stadiums do something the moment you play them, when you play Parallel City, your opponent discards some Shaymins (which by...

Regionals Deck Lists for Top 8 Players of Each Age Division!

From interview I watched some time ago: the deck already plays muscle bands, DCEs and laserbanks so the idea is that if you can get the turn one Quaking Punch before decks like night march, vespiquen or blastoise setup its great, if you cant it doesnt matter and sacrificing one slot for it...

Article Standardized Testing: Preparing for City Championships and Beyond

Im afraid poor Yveltal-EX is too slow and fragile for standard. Though I do think a dark based deck will rise from BREAKthrough. The new Yveltal especially looks like a sleeper card that might turn out to be really good. Yveltal-EX is most likely to become just a spectator, MAYBE 1-of or something.

    Sableye / Garbodor

The deck doesnt take prizes so bats do nothing for you.

    Seismitoad-EX Variants

I dont think there is much room for variation at all since this deck already plays every good expanded card pretty much. Ghetsis is one of the tech cards thats surprisingly good. You can run Hex Maniac if you have problem with the likes of Tyrantrum, Dedenne is good against Yveltal (although...

    Blastoise Variants

Its exactly like Mora said, Jirachi-EX is often an integral part of turn 1 Blastoise, you play 2 because you dont want to just lose because your 1-of is prized. In fact, the deck plays all the important combo pieces as a 2-of for exactly that reason.
