Discussion Question about searching and shuffling

I agree with all the posts. Just be clear about what you are doing. you opponent most times will nod their head or say OK. if you do play x ultraball, I would play each one individually put 1 down with its x2 discards and get the target card, let opp know you are going back into the deck...

    Discussion Sleeve Discussion Thread

I usually go Ultra Pro and/or Dragon Shield. we are always trying out new colors. for tournaments. me and my kids always have a few spares. and we usually have another full set of 60+2 ish sleeves. i don't overly worry about it, at most tournaments, whether its a convention center or store...

    Expanded Sableye (GRI) Deck Help

i meant that the deck likely will have some draw support items like Level Ball or Evosoda (in addition to Ultra Ball). those would be the draw support (not Crobat). in case you want to run something else like Vileplume.

    Discussion Best Bo1 Deck?

Thats always the tricky part of the best of 1. Even the best decks, best players can have a bad draw. it happens. just choose the deck you personally feel is consistent, play test, and make sure you are familiar with the ins and outs of how to run it against different opponents.

    Expanded Sableye (GRI) Deck Help

The hard part with this type of deck is that you don't have a lot of damage output.... outside of bats. so the Laser Virbank will help. especially if you can get the active asleep. sooner or later... an opponent will likely get a Stage 1 GX up or another attacker that only takes 1 Energy.

    Expanded Sableye (GRI) Deck Help

The tricky part with Toad is that you will be forced to choose between Sableye or Toad. and you'll need to tweak your deck list to include some DCE for toad. Vileplume will take a few turns... but you have some built in draw support in bats already.

    Expanded Sableye (GRI) Deck Help

if??? the goal is to do a supporter lock with Sableye. its not enough by itself. opponents can have other outs for draw support. consider some sort of item lock. maybe run a few Ghetsis to dump their Items. I also agree with Life Dew. I also like a few AZ and less Devo Spray. dump the...

Looking for advice On a Rouge Budget Expanded Deck

just a friendly reminder that Manectric EX can run with Head Ringer. even with field blower, you may consider running a full set of x4 Head Ringer. just something different (from the past). you could always pair with Eels for additional energy acceleration. maybe Mega Turbo...

    Help Teaching Kids to Shuffle

give it time and practice. she'll get it. both my kids did. one way to also practice is just to use a plain deck of cards (at least its cheap and she doesn't have to worry about bending the cards). at lot of it is just getting use to the actually "shuffling" of the cards and fitting them...

Standard Marshadow GX Help for an 8-Year-Old

sometimes... too much variety is not a good thing. with kids, they sometimes like too many cards and want to put in a little of everything. so keep in mind that x6 will initially be prized. maybe try to add in a few more draw support items like ultra ball and of course.... play test and play...

    Help Beginner Questions

in some ways, think of pokemon like chess. it takes quite a few games just to get a good handle of the game mechanics. maybe 20+ games... before you don't have to think about the mechanics and they become 2nd nature. once you get the mechanics down... you can devote more of your gameplay...

Help Advice on World Championship Decks ?

I recommend you take a look at the gameplay of some of the championship decks from tournaments on youtube or twitch. some of the decks are a bit tricky to run (especially if you aren't ultra competitive and into the TCG strategy and gameplay). some deck are more fun than others. once you get a...

    Discussion Regionals Costa Mesa, Cali

regarding that competitive scene. Use this as a learning experience and have FUN. at this time.... don't fixate on all the various decks out there. Choose 1 or 2 decks that you are thinking about playing. and learn to play that particular deck as well as you can. know there cards, strategy...

    Discussion Regionals Costa Mesa, Cali

There usually isn't much you can do regarding "spectating". All spectators are usually kept away from the players tables. as stated, there are vendor tables. and there are typically side events that you can participate in. but I wouldn't recommend driving a long distance just to spectate.

Help newcomer looking for a deck to invest in.

before you invest too much into any one deck... I recommend you try to playtest a few decks. or just take a look at some of the matches on youtube. each player is different, and what they like or don't like varies. as a start. you can always invest in the basics like ultraball. sycamore...

    Standard Quad Hoopa Deck

its going to be tough to make your deck able to counter all the decks out there. looks like anyone with Garbodor can either counter your ability and/or just use trash and attack with one energy on their turn. many decks have a non GX/EX attacker to counter the ability. give it a try. I've...

    Standard Creationism Deck (untested)

Play test and practice. but... keep in mind that there's a reason why certain decks typically do well. consistency and ability to matchup against many other decks. don't "not" play N, just because others use it. think about what decks are out there and what you have to counter. what if...

Expanded Deck Build (Newbie Needs Advice)

I agree with the post to look at typical decks and deck list from the recent expanded tournaments. it will give you good idea of what decks do well in expanded. chances are, your standard deck may also do well in expanded with some tweaks. One is the use of VS Seeker. try to stick with the...
