'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

Yeah, 240 is very unrealistic for only 2-energy-cost/potentially-2-energy-discard attack, even on a mega, and that was why I thought the mega would need a 3-energy attack cost, instead of two (as I mentioned). Now, 3 energy for 200+ on a mega, and having to discard those, wouldn't make this card...

'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

I'm kinda disappointed on these Houndoom and M-Houndoom cards (and keep in mind I say this with a heavy heart since I like Houndoom a lot). I mean, I understand TPCi is trying to keep the game balanced, and I even thought I expected M-Houndoom to have 1 less energy requirement in order to...

Actually, it explicitly says that it can be brought back from the discard pile if it was removed from play as the effect of the attack of the Pokemon that that energy was attached to, so Camerupt EX would have to discard only burning energies attached to itself.

'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

I totally agree that leaving 120 HP on a Mega to be able to hit for big damage is very dangerous, but I don't know if people is realizing that you don't have to hit for 250 every turn to win a game. I mean, the Dragon MRay usually is combined with shrine of memories, and can get some KO's using...

'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

Well, sometimes you can use a stadium not only as a counter, but also to get rid of potential liabilities. Although this new Parallel stadium seems to give both players some kind of disadvantage, both sides can be useful depending on the state of the game: you can simply limit the bench size of...

'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

I personally like how they are trying to bring "odd" numbers to the cards HP. I mean, basically today if you can hit 180, u can knock out most mon in the format, except for mega, wailord and Double Crisis EX's (which are not so competitive cards). Although the cost of its attack is huge, and...

Article Let's Go Nuts! The Craziest Rogue Decks in BCR-On!

Hey there, Luis, Love the article and the very detailed way you described your experiences on that tournament you took part in =) I just have one little thing to point out: when you talked about Aegislash-EX in your metal deck, you said "Crobat [...] being the only one that can have a chance...

10 Cards from 'Legendary Holo Collection' Revealed!

Hoopa actually can't take advantage of dimension valley at all: that stadium only removes one colorless from the cost of each psychic pokemon's attacks, but both Hoopa's attacks require psychic energy as the color of every energy =/

Article Time to Revert Back to Primal Groudon!

Actually, a one-of Skyla could be interesting because, although Korrina gives access to any item card in the deck, you have no direct way to get stadiums using it -- but, then again, it is not like groudon needs stadiums to OHKO EXs anyways... Of course, one other option would be using...

Extended Hoopa Movie Trailer (Spoiler: Everyone Dies)

Idk if I'm seeing things that aren't there, but I had the impression some of those legendary pokemon were summoned by Hoopa Unbound. At the end of the day, both Hoopa have the ability to do so, right? From this trailer, I thought I saw groudon, kyogre, palkia and dialga fighting along side...

10 Cards from 'Legendary Holo Collection' Revealed!

Actually, you can't. Not in the way you suggested, at least. Milotic explicitly says "except pokemon ex" on the description of its ability. On the other hand, you could make sure that those energy ended up on pikachu IF you combine Milotic with some kind of energy transfer strategy, like using...

English Kyurem-EX, Both Entei from 'Ancient Origins'

I totally share your frustration: I'm from Brazil, and the Portuguese versions of pokemon cards are literal translations from their english counterparts. We end up with things like "pokemon center lady" sounding like the nurse actually works on the streets at night, IYKWIM =( This is why I just...

'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

Yep, I have to admit: I'm pretty convinced this gonna be something very similar to level X's I just hope they don't have any annoying rule of ending the turn to evolve like megas do

'Blue Impact' / 'Red Flash' Japan's XY8 Sets, Next Set Block Titled 'XY: BREAK!'

I agree with you. And since "break card" doesn't seem to have anything to do with any human character of the series, I would guess it is an item card. If I had to guess, I would say this item would be very similar to wally, but different in two ways: first, you could play more than one copy of...

Ancient Origins [8/15, aka Bandit Ring]

Quick question: I can see the stop ancient trait being used as a shield to avoid things like damage coming from bats, for example, since sneaky and surprise bites are clearly effects of abilities on your opponent's pokémon. On the other hand, Rebellious Wave, Giratina's ability, has an effect...

Ancient Origins [8/15, aka Bandit Ring]

hmmm, idk why people are complaining about the consistency of this card: I mean, of course it needs to have a high attack cost -- it desperately needs to be balanced, otherwise we would get a new seismitoad on the format -- and nobody wants that, right? =/ And I will discuss how that can be...

Event Results of This Weekend's Mega Battle Tournaments in Japan

Musharna (NXD #59) has a very similar ability to Slurpuff (PHF #69), with the drawback of not being available on current standard format. On the other hand, it has two basic advantages over Puff: 1. It can naturally be paired with Munna (BCR #68), that has the ability Long Distance Hypnosis...
