Standard Beginner Decks - Advice and Tips Are Welcome

how about a Parallel City for your stadium. either 1 or 2. you can use it against your opponent... or on yourself to clear some pokemon off your bench. its good to have some stadium control besides field blower. at a minimum, you can use the stadium to your advantage when you place it down.

Help Deck Building Advice for a Young Newbie

I suggest you also look at the trainers/supporters that you include with your deck. I know kids get a little focused on the pokemon and attackers, but games are won and lost based on how well the supporters/trainers are put together. similar with energy count.

    Standard Gardevoir/Giratina

I worked in a Mega Turbo (otherwise, you have no accel for Mega Gard). and a couple of Energy Switches. maybe you can try 1 Xerneas Break. I found x4 Xerneas too much. I haven't tested out the Giratina variant as much though.

    Worlds Tickets

I forget how much they cost... but it shouldn't be too expensive. usually its 8 person pick up games. I haven't seen this years schedule of events yet... but there could be a side tournament also (ie they had the Boston open last year).

Best Theme Deck for Newbie and Place for Testing

I recommend that you go check out 1 or 2 of your local pokemon leagues. typically... the players are very helpful. Talk to the organizer. Talk to the players. many of the top players can give you some good advice. they can also give you pointers on how to "improve" your theme deck. typically...

Expanded Klinklang Expanded (Klinklang / Cobalion EX / Aegislash EX / Darkrai EX)

you live and die with KlingKlang. I ran a variation of this last year. you need to work in a couple of Rare Candy (x2) and maybe an Evosoda. you want to get to KlingKlang as fast as you can. most players work in a tech to deal with this and Sigilyph/Suicune. you need to slow down the opponent...

Yveltal EX / Darkrai EX / Garbador

you'll need to rotate out Dark Patch. possibly switch out Lysandre for Catcher. you can still use Catcher, but you'll have to flip a coin (see rules errata).

My First Serious Deck (Victini EX / M Charizard EX / Rapidash / Clawitzer / Alomomola)

In general, similar comments to the other posters. Focus your pokemon. Too much variety is a losing strategy. narrow it down to the 3-4 "key" pokemon. then put in 2-4 of those pokemon. Your pokemon and energy should be in the lower teens re quantity. you need much more draw support. the key...

Light in the Darkness (Yveltal EX / M Manectric EX / Seismitoad EX)

RE: Light in the Darkness (Yveltal EX / Manectric EX / Seismitoad EX) my friend ran a similar deck and did well at Cities. I recommend that you remove Seismitoad. its not necessary for this deck. if you want to stall.... add a Head Ringer. add Hammers. remember that you have other attacks...

Oh Yeah! Night March for Regionals! (Joltik / Pumpkaboo / Lampent / Mew EX)

RE: Night March for Regionals (oh yeah!!) my son ran 1 Gourgeist and 1 Celebi EX. He beat Pyroar during regular round and Pyroar 2-0 in Top Cut. I agree with the other post, go with the power lineup 4-4-4-4 (Mew EX). look at it another way. is the Flareon line worth the chance of...

Nightmarch (Mew EX / Joltik / Flareon)

we ran x2 mystery energy. does help with prize denial as you can bench Mew EX if opponent can't OHKO. we also have x2 Special Energy. don't forget Mew Versatile can use all attacks. so remember to peek at opponents attacks, just in case you want to reverse Quaking Punch or some other attack...

Nightmarch (Mew EX / Joltik / Flareon)

my suggestion is that you have too many different pokemon in your deck. don't worry about Dark, Fighting, and VirGen. go with the power game. My son used Night march at Cities and got 2nd place in a field of 20+ just go with the power game. 4-4-4-4. don't worry about the Evee lines. just...

Nightmareon (Mew EX / Flareon / Night March)

The only time I really see this deck struggle is against a Trainer Lock like Seismitoad. otherwise, I found it to be just a "fast" as decks that use Energy Acceleration. Energy count a bit light. I run a couple of Mystery Energy as well as regular psychic energy... contemplating throwing in a...

Cobalion EX / Bronzong / Dialga EX

I would be careful of running too many things.. Coby, Bronzong, KlingKlang, Aegi. variety is a killer. you should either make this a speed deck with Bronzor as primary focus or a anti-EX deck with KlingKlang. I ran a straight up Coby KlingKLang deck at Regionals (prior to Phantom Forces...

Hard Metal Axe (Haxorus / Bronzong)

RE: Hard Metal Axe (Haxorus / Bronzong and Friends) prior to Phantom Forces release, I ran a Steel deck with Coby EX and KlingKlang. some items to consider (and from my experience playing in Regionals). Fire Pokemon. Reshiram and Victini/Victory Piece. that x2 damage takes its toll. it was...

~Seismitoad Lock for Cities~ (Seismitoad EX / Garbodor)

you might be careful about relying too too much on the Seismitoad/Garbodor lock. I did well against it in Regionals by lightening up the Item cards and putting in a few more supporter cards. I did well vs. Lando/Lucario/Seis/Garb deck. I also ran Pokemon Center Lady to help clear the poison and...

Super Safeguard (Suicune / Sigilyph / Donphan)

all sounds good. but almost all players have a Lysandre.... and I know zero players who run an EX exclusive deck. they always have a basic/stage1/stage2. give it a try...

    Dialzong (Dialga EX / Bronzong)

might been trying to do too much as once.. it seems like you will need to bench KlinKlang, Bronzong, Keldeo, Dialga, and Cobalion... just to get things going the way you want. be tricky if Keldeo gets prized. not much you can do to counter Fire decks, unlike you consider moving in a water...

Fairy Killer (Klinklang / Bronzong / Dialga EX / Cobalion EX)

I think that you have a little bit too much pokemon variety in your deck. I been tinkering with a KlinKlang Cobalion deck, but mostly waiting for the new set to get released. I just played in a mini league challenge and ran up against 3 straight Lucario/Landorus/Mewtwo/Garb decks. at least in my...

    New Rising Fist Decks

I've tried countering with 3 Team Flare Grunts in my deck. works reasonably well... but you have to be committed to the strategy and load up your deck with more Supporters (ie Pokemon Fan Club vs. UltraBall). This also helps against the Item lock when they are pairing with Seismitoad EX...
