    "If the Defending Pokemon is a Pokemon V or Pokemon-GX, it can’t attack during your opponent’s next turn." Key words in bold. The Defending Pokemon is the Pokemon that took the attack. Switching it to the bench removes the effect.

    This is because TCG Dark Pokemon who are originally Dark in the video games are weak to Bug, which is lumped in with Grass in the TCG. Still, Houndoom should have been weak to Fighting like before, as in the video games, it's weak to all of Fighting, Rock, and Ground.
