I was wondering about the Illustration Contest stuff actually… Didn’t they announce the start date of the last few ones in early winter? Are we not getting one for 2025 because of the AI stuff? That’s a major bummer if thats the case. I wasn’t able to participate in the last two.

Ok, yes I think it’s criminal for people to have to pay hundreds for a single card, sure. However, I am grabbing popcorn and watching these stories of fake cards being sold to people for millions.

Watching the prices of these etbs+ packs go sky high is upsetting. I love the TCG as much as the next person but ultimately these are cards largely marketed to kids. I feel like theres an issue when a product can’t even reach it’s primary audience..

May she rest in peace. It will never not frustrate me to see people, especially folks who have had a big impact on the world around them, need to reach out for help with medical expenses, especially for cancer. This shouldn’t be how things are. It’s heartbreaking in every sense.

…What does AI art have to do with using CT scans for cards??? These are two wholly separate things. And it doesn’t even sound like people like the scanning stuff happening.

I can understand that. For me I feel like trainer characters are just as important as the pokemon themselves with helping make the world feel more fleshed out and alive, and as much as I like alot of them, I also get people enjoy Pokemon most for…Well, the pokemon LOL

Also see for me I don’t ever find myself feeling too picky about trainer card illustrations because it’s just fun to get more official art of Any of the trainers. The Pokemon all get tons and tons but the trainers only get so much depending on their popularity so stuff like this makes me happy...

Being able to go from my gf excitedly waking me up to show me Briars full art to me being able to excitedly wake her up and show her the illustrator rare wound up being such a fun treat for me personally (We both absolutely love her LOL)
