Personally I quite like the independence sometimes. If it's a basic assignment which you really don't need everyone else for, not having them acting as interruptions is so nice. :p

I really dislike group projects myself for this exact reason. >__>;

Perhaps taking a different approach (encouraging) over controlling could help?

@Celever: The independence is pretty great. I usually prefer it over group work, but I'll do everything I need to in group projects.

@bbninjas: When I say controlling, I mean trying to not have the one guy Gr. 8 constantly messing around with this other Gr. 8 girl and instead have them both trying to work on the project. Encouraging is a great idea, though, and that's what I was kinda trying to do, although when people don't listen, that makes it kinda hard.
