JustInBasil, Longtime Contributor to the Pokemon TCG Community, Has Passed Away

Man, this is such a bummer. I remember going on the JustinBasil discord server and asking if anyone knew of some competitive Rapid Strike Urshifu decks and within a minute he replied to me with a great deck list. He was dedicated to this community and I will always remember that. Does anyone know the cause of death? I'm just curious

He was such a critical figurehead; he loved this TCG and this community, and all his work shows how deep that passion ran. I hope he rests in peace, and knows that he was loved, too.

I’m absolutely shocked and devastated about this. This absolutely terrible news. The hobby is worse off for this. This is a difficult time for his family and friends and ai hope they can be proud of his contributions to the hobby and let that inform their memory of him. Please all be kind to yourselves and take care.

On behalf of the Kingsford Family, thank you all for your kind words and support. My brother was loved by so many. He was innovative, creative, patient, caring, loving, and just all around wonderful. My heart and the hearts of his family are broken. We greatly appreciate how much love you have all shown for Jason aka Justin Basil. Thank you so much 🙏🏼 ❤️

This is not the news I was expecting to hear so suddenly - It was obvious Jason was an amazing member of the community and I could tell he was a true Pokémon fan from the way he talked on the podcast, which was so nice to hear in these trying times of the hobby as a whole. Rest in peace and I will definitely be nicknaming my Meganium after him in Legends Z-A💚

He will be remembered, that I'm sure of, he made such an impact on the true real players of the game and the myth of JustInBasil will only grow, not diminish.

Justinbasiil was a legendary Trainer/ Professor.

I must have told over 200+ League Kids about his site since 2022ish.
The resources where so handy.
Budget deck lists, meta list, Staples, Type support, Retro decks, Weird formats, .ETC!
A grand asset that site was.
Seen a dozen of his Retro / Weird Formats stream.
So much Research, So much Knowledge of the TCG.
A friend to all true Trainers of the hobby.
Sad news Indeed.

Thank you for all your love to the community.
May you Rest comfortably.

To his family, My Condolences.

To WPM, My Condolences.

To Everyone else. Pokémon can wait.
Take care of yourself and your people first.
