Pokémon (10):
  • 3 Reshiram & Charizard GX (beatdown)
  • 3 Volcanion SM10 (beatdown)
  • 1 Reshiram SM3 (beatdown)
  • 3 Jirachi SM8a (search)
Trainer (36):
  • 4 Welder (accelerate)
  • 3 Guzma (control)
  • 3 Cynthia (draw)
  • 4 Lillie (draw)
  • 3 Choice Band (beatdown)
  • 3 Escape Board (retreat)
  • 3 Fire Crystal (retrieval)
  • 3 Ultra Ball (search)
  • 3 Nest Ball (search)
  • 3 Switch (switch)
  • 1 Heat Factory Prism (draw)
  • 3 Giant Oven (search)
Energy (14):
  • 14 Fire Energy

STRATEGY:

Start with either Basic Pokémon other than Victini Prism and start to fuel two Reshiram and Charizard with Welder and Volcanion. Switch between two Reshiram and Charizard GX to knock out the defender in one hit with Flare Strike. Reshiram and Volcanion are intended to handle non GX Pokémon.

SPOILER:

Giant Oven
Trainer - Stadium
Once during each player’s turn, that player may discard a card from their hand. If they do, that player searches their deck for up to 2 [R] energy cards, reveals them, and puts them into their hand. Then, that player shuffles their deck.

Looks good. I’d ask you if there’s anything specific you needed advice on, but this deck probably won’t be legal ‘till this summer.

Hi Lord Goomy,

Thanks for the review. While Reshiram and Charizard GX hit numbers on several Pokémon the deck could have issues with Choice Helmet and selected Pokémon with more than 260 health. Not sure on how to resolve this potential issue without compromising the consistency of the deck.

Choice Helmet isn’t big, and Giratina messes up consistency.
This might sound crazy, but... Shrine? You could do -1 Fire Crystal for +1 Shrine, and try to replace it ASAP. It damages enough so your problem is solved, but damages you in the process. Kinky.

Hi Lord Goomy,

Thanks for the review. Choice Helmet has turned into a stable in several Gardevoir and Sylveon GX decks, which tend to do rather well here as can be seen from the most recent tournament in the link. I considered to cut one Viridian Forest for one Field Blower but the low count does not seem to be consistent and it would be a harship to cut another stadium for a second one.
