Poison wouldn't count, as it states "by an attack", so it must be damage done by your attacks. By the same reasoning, abilities such as feather arrow wouldn't work either.
Damage from an attack = an attack with damage listed next to it. Not an effect of an attack.

Yet again Kalos disappoints us.
I always look forward to Ageislash cards simply because it's the best design and concept for a Pokemon to date. First attack it interesting for sure but would need a way to lock it in but current card pool prevents it from being good at all.
- Aegislash - Stage 2, first atk that is too, too undrrwhelming due to the fact that Acerola and Guzma are everywhere. Having a weakness to Zoroark is another addition of disappointment. 2-3 Geodudes

The Gengar with Creep Show is "serperior" than this Aegislash IMO and lol.

Even if it did not state the damage must be from an Attack, it wouldn't work. Poison damage is applied inbetween turns, not during turns.
