Why are Booster Boxes Cheaper?

This is kind of a random question, but does anyone else notice that booster boxes seem to be cheaper now than they used to be?

Back when I used to play, a box of the newest set was well over $100 dollars. Now, you can buy a box for around $90, sometimes even less. Why is this the case?

RE: Booster Boxes are Cheaper?

When was "Back when I used to play"?

Your local card shop will jack the price to like, $120 ish usually. Online, people buy cases, which makes each box cheaper as you're getting a discount, and they buy it at wholesale price, which is what your card shop would buy the boxes for. When you get product cheaper, you can afford to sell it cheaper and still make money.

It's funny, boxes are more expensive than they used to be. Suggested retail for booster boxes is like $140 or so for BW when it used to be much lower.

For me, I have always seen booster boxes on eBay for the same $90-$100 prices (this being since the DP era).
