I've played pokemon for a about 3 years. My child picked up collecting cards, and because we had a lack of competition in our lives, I went on a hunt for a league. We strictly played at the league for a year just learning the game. After a while of league play, my child wanted to play competitively. I started taking him to competitions. Eventually, he won cities, took 5th in states, and 22nd in a regional, we missed the cut for worlds.

At one point or time, my son got upset with me and asked why I didn't play competitively. I told him I just wasn't good enough to compete. In truth, I thought the game was more about him, than me. Eventually the argument went into a direction that I couldn't refuse. I top cut in my first masters league challenge, and then, did it twice over.

Game Style:
I like to play fast and hard, at the same time I like to try and figure out pokemon that are deemed unusable (Absol, Kyruem, Dianci, Kyogre) Though I've played them, I don't find lock decks rewarding. It might be my age, but I prefer my opponent to have all his options available to know that I truly did play a strategy game. I find those wins a bit more rewarding. I prefer not to net deck and enjoy league challenges where people are trying new ideas.

As an Engineer, I prefer the Japanese model to life. Basically, any new ideas presented in the industry must be shared with their competitors, whomever makes the best product wins. I live by the open share rule and always leave my decks open.

If you want a friend, than hit me up.
