It's been kind of commonly accepted as far as I know that the Cyndaquil line (Echidna) while not a Mouse is meant to represent the Rodent, and Fennekin is supposed to represent the Dog. I'm not the first to make the connection between the Chinese Zodiac and the Fire starters and it's certainly...
Skrelp is more related in appearance to Sea Dragons than Sea Horses just an observation.

Talonflame looks like a mix of a Robin and a Sparrwohawk.
Also I hope the Lion cub stays a Lion-based, bc they Still have to make the Tiger Fire starter in a future gen (since Fire starters are based so far on the Chinese Zodiac).
Yeah and it wouldn't be the first time that they over lap like that for pokemon names, just like with Fletchling, (fletching/fledgling + hatchling) etc.
Just like WPM said sometimes fans make fakemon and their names happen to be similar to those of Pokemon that are later revealed. It's not that difficult to come up with espur to be honest, with so many people making their own fakemon and giving them pokemon-like names it's gonna continue...
Fans need to not put Pokemon in a box based solely on what they look like or what animal they're based on. How can Magcargo be a fire and rock type if it's a snail, or how can Pikachu be electric if it's a rat, wouldn't make sense for it to be normal or even ground etc etc. Just saying, food for...
THANK YOU!!! I was having the a hard time as I'm sure others did trying to figure this out! I had thought up a similar psychic/dark type stand-alone squid fakemon a few years ago that would be based on the vampire squid (I hope it goes this direction, crossing my fingers).
If that Spanish site info is true, I'm really not liking the idea of So many pseudo-legendaries, I mean how many is too many? I hope it's mostly made up and Pokebeach will release the true leaks slowly over time.
Gogoat: Hahah I was hoping they'd stick with it in English, Go! Gogoat!
Panchum: I wonder what it's evolution will be named.
Fletchling: Makes sense, and it's tail looks like the fletching of a bow arrow too.
Helioptile: I like it.
I would add, that I hope Patrice is the Prof's first name...
Um is anyone gonna release better looking pics of the pokemon sprites? Just wondering, also how long does the sugimori art take to be released after the games have been released?
I think I remember reading that pokemon transfered into these games from old gens would get their stats changed or something, something about stats being reconfigured or something like that. Any news WPM?
