I'm curious what they can do with the illustration rares here, because them just floating in the air over some generec beautiful meadow or forest clearing would be rather boring. I always imagined them possibly being involved in some lab settings or experiments or in some ocean 1 billion years...
Some nice artworks, and the horizontal line holos is a nice touch if it's just for this set, but I think only giving one of the starters an ex is a major flaw. Imagine in 151 only one of Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise had had an ex and a SAR.
We had toilet paper shortages and normal printing paper became like 50 % more expensive in Europe in 2022. So although I don't think paper is or should be the problem, it can be.
I assume it takes a long time to set up everything to print more and companies also want to be careful to not overdo...
The Ampharos would have deserved to be holographic. The last set upgraded some non-holo Japanese cards to holographic English cards, so maybe there is a chance.
I agree. Certain locations around the world might be/have been different at different times, but before Prismatic Evolutions in the area where I live (in Germany) and in the online stores where I preordered/ordered and actually could get things, some things were more expensive, some more sought...
I have no idea how popular which legendary Pokémon of this generation is, but I could actually see that either Ogerpon or Terapagos is the 3rd-most popular one after Koraidon and Miraidon. Because I did never see that the "treasures of ruin" or "loyal 3" are that popular. But I haven't watched...
That would have been a long time to be lying there, if both were drawn before Dragon Vault, but I have frequently seen illustrations by the same artist with similar background, sometimes the same Pokémon in sets max. a couple of years apart. There I could see them being from the same drawing...
It would be interesting to know whether he drew them all at the same time and they just were used later or whether the were drawn at different times.
Because we had some articles some years ago where it was shown that when an artist gets the job to draw a certain Pokémon, they hand in 3, 4 or...
Once I see some of them clearer, I might like more, but so far the only one I really like a lot is #089 Ethan’s Adventure. The majority is good, but not that surprising or impressive to me.
Just Shaymin looks quite boring to me, I like the regular art more.
