Definitely an Arceus reference, and the oval reminds me of that holo pattern from the tcg set Arceus. Also noted that Ryder has a mega bracelet. Probably not imported, but noted. My guess is that the REK left notes for Ryder. Just a guess.

I haven't been active in the Pokemon TCG lately, so I'm not sure if this is balanced. Probably not.

If it isn't obvious, the eye patch guy is the red eyed kid. My theory is that whatever he's holding in his hand caused him to become the red eyed kid, as well as cause the fire.

Any theories or anything that is confirmed that you would like to share? We know that the eye patch guy is the guy in the background on the old Pokebeach due to the shorts he wears. And the island is probably the one on fire in the new background. But who caused the fire? Who is the red eyed...
