Absolute banger designs for all the trainers. Going to be some really nice SARs… Also M Dragonite looks good/very fitting considering his original design? I think people are just disappointed it doesn’t look closer to the more edgy fan arts done over the years.

It’s so funny seeing the difference in product design/marketing between Japanese and English. Even now, when the two releases are more aligned than ever, they still use slightlyyy different key art and design elements lol

Holy crap the high-res images make such a difference. I was bummed Genesect had gotten a relatively dull card, but I’ve made a total 180, it’s sooo cool 🧎🏽‍♂️

Oh sweet lord. The Zekrom actually holds up to the Reshiram 😭 As a pair, these are absolutely peak

Recency bias aside, that Reshiram might be my new favorite card since the SWSH-era alts.

Do we know anything about this year’s special set? Wondering if it’ll be themed around trainer’s Pokemon or Megas. Maybe both/neither?

For the first time in years I wouldn’t mind pulling a full-art. Still prefer alts, but these are clean.

Damn I don’t even love Surperior, but that card is a must-have.

Interesting card to say is unlike anything in the tcg when a majority of the SV-era ARs look just like it. Colorful, often times pastel hues, soft painterly shapes.

Price asides, this Mewtwo + Moltres, and Cynthia’s Garchomp are my biggest chases in a long time. I understand that some people prefer over-the-top color and design, but this more grounded anime style is exactly why I started collecting.
