Legacy Energy is interesting.
To be but a fly on the wall when they had R&D in the room:
"We want to do Life Dew again; we saw what people did with it in Expanded. Can we make a non-alcoholic version of Life Dew?"
Beach hasn't been relevant since before COVID. Shock Lock control isn't a thing anymore and the prevalent control decks in the last 2 years to current either use 1 Beach or don't use Beach at all. If you want to play control and don't have Beach, it's not a dealbreaker and you can get on fine...
Scoop Up Net
Scoop Up Cyclone
Super Scoop Up
9 ways of picking up an expended Valiant ex and bringing up a new one and repeat. You can do a max of 180 damage with Tachyon. But that requires 4 successful Super Scoop Up coin flips
Float Stone could also be used to retreat into 1 Iron Valiant...
Not surprised Net got banned. It's wording meant that it was never meant to survive outside of it's block. It should have been banned sooner because Fast Raid donk was a thing, even though it's damage output was dubious at best. But I guess Iron Valiant ex gives it a significantly bigger...
I do not miss the constant debates during COVID between "what should be banned? Shaymin-EX or Scoop Up Net?"
Shaymin-EX was busted and Net highlighted that.
Net, in Expanded--currently--isn't a problem. I think this is Japan getting ahead of the 8-ball before an ex deck comes along and...
I think TCPI looked at what he did with Galarian Slowking V and they went, “woah, we didn’t think you’d go THAT hard on this one. We need to contain this to just the regular art box. Here, do Pyukumuku next.”
not many Pokemon can do this. Handsomep mentioned Regice (CES) and Palkia (CEL). But they can only do it if they are in the active.
If you go Expanded, there's a Ninetales that can do it--can't remember the set, but it can be on the Bench and you're set.
I know this was attempted when...
Well now!
- Can only summon THAT SPECIFIC V-Union per game (you could theoretically "summon" Mewtwo V-U, Greninja V-U, etc.)
- need all 4 pieces in discard pile
- no deck building restrictions to V-Union, (you could run 4 of each part).
Battle Compressor is being eyeballed as busted...
Morpeko is definitely interesting. It’s a contender for “Sableye replacement” in Expanded
you have Rototiller Excadrill, but it requires Fighting Energy and is a Stage 1. It’s already in a viable control deck, it’s just not splashable.
Bunnelby can get back 2 of any card for C, but they...
Aw, cool! That’s awesome!
thanks again for the opportunity, and the stories by Ephemera and Jabberwock are fantastic reads.
can’t wait to see how it all plays out!
