Yeah, it wasn't a *bad* episode, persay, just a lot of wasted potential. >.> The other episodes have all been pretty great, though, especially the last one.

The Sylveon episode, sadly. I was very excited to see Sylveon in action, but the episode itself was subpar. The others have all been great, though.

Haha, ohman, Ash with Mewtwo would be awesome. x3 I kind of wonder if he'll ever get a legendary, though, considering he's had the options to in the past and never has. Maybe someday before the anime ends.

But, yeah, this season has been really awesome! There are a few episodes that have slightly recycled plots, but even those ones are amusing and done very well. There was only one episode really I was disappointed in, but the others have all been great. It's a super fun watch.

Yeah, the timeline of the anime has always been awkward at best. I hope they're starting to shy away from Satoshi always being 10 and letting him grow up a little, and XY does seem to be a good sign of that. He even looks older, though that could also just be the animation difference. I also don't think he'll actually beat the League (especially since that would mean the end of the anime series, according to one of the creators), but I can't help but hope. I do like your idea of him beating the League but losing to the Champion; at least that would show that he's improved and can accomplish things, while still leaving the show open to continue further.

Satoshi's maturity level in XY has also greatly improved a lot. He didn't start the season off making dumb mistakes like a brand-new trainer, and he's thinking and planning and such. I don't think it's quite as dark as BW (at least the parts of BW I saw, which was admittedly little), but I feel like Satoshi has improved enough to actually be a likeable character and a good trainer; if he's going to make Champion any generation, this would be it. But it's also the other characters (Citron and Serena for sure; Eureka occasionally gets on my nerves, but she's much better than I thought she would be ) and the Pokémon themselves that really make things shine. I guess it also helps that I really like all of the new Pokémon introduced this generation, so it's great to see them all on screen! I won't give any spoilers, though; you'll have to watch and find out for yourself. :3

I hope you enjoy it! I was very unimpressed with the BW series, to be honest, but I'm really enjoy XY so far. The characters and Pokémon are all great! And I'm really enjoying watching it in Japanese, too.
