Some stall builds can beat malamar, I've actually built one with a winning record against it. It can do so because metal energy is a finite resource, you don't have free retreat (save via escape board, and I play lysandre labs) and the deck can wall your attackers, just not all of them at once...

On a personal level, an electric-dominated format sounds bad for me, especially if it's a narrow meta - I tend to play rogues, and most of my favorite pokemon are weak to lightning. :( But I'll see what I can do.

A format with so many restrictions on search is gonna be weird, I hope it doesn't just make the types with dedicated search dominate. We'll have cherish ball, Elm's, and pokecomm at least but I've heard bad things from people who tested post-rotation.

People keep asking at tournaments when I do use it in standard. "I thought that was banned?" "Only in expanded". Will be nice to have around for another year, if I can make a decent stall list to use it in.
